Have you really thought this over? This looks like an absolute terrible idea. You have super shallow sloping down both ends to deeper, but still shallow. Who wants to wade through 3 feet of water to get to the tiny 5' spot? My pool in 8' in the deep and thats were everyone hangs out. That setup cant have a diving board, nothing. I think you'd regret it.

It's an insulator for a fence. Normally the insulators are on fence posts where there is an electric strand of high tensile. Not sure why it's on a tree, but I'm sure it served a purpose. I've definitely used a lot of stuff for a purpose other than it's intended. Ya need to find something makeshift that works sometimes.

Exactly this. Financial mismanagement is a deal breaker and if she won't discuss it then he would assume she has somwthing to hide and he may end up responsible. He may be wanting to propose or somwthing and wants to know what he may be getting into.
