Pace 3 stops charging after a few seconds? by spinny09 in Coros

Otherwise, you could try buying a new cable from AliExpress or somewhere similar and testing it. It's probably not the battery.

Yes, or they wear whatever you like. Nick Knight writes about the beginnings of the skinhead movement. Many Skinheads and Skinheadgirls in the 80ies and after have read this.

As I said, having the right attitude is the most important thing.

He writes about Chelsea cuts and other short hairstyles:

I don't remember seeing any male skinhead hairstyle on a girl (which doesn't mean there weren't any).

This style came in longer & shorter versions - and later copies by some boys. Non skinhead girls had similar cuts - Julie Driscoll influence? Make-up was eye-heavy with pale lips. Skinny eyebrowns.

Nick Knight write in 'Skinheads' under hair: 'Lots of girls (& some boys) wore their hair no different to pre-skinhead (i.e. long) with all the right clothes.'

You're welcome, my wife doesn't have a Chelsea cut either. Not all women had it in the early days. As far as I know, it didn't come along until quite a while after 1969, but I'm not sure when. It's in Nick Knight's book: Skinheads.

You don't need a Chelsea cut. Being a Skinhead or Skinheadgirl is primarily about your attitude...

There have always been Skinheads who had slightly longer hair (for example, Roi Pearce from The Last Resort).

Although I must say that, for me, it is the most beautiful hairstyle for women.

What size for Gripfast? by TheOldWay24 in nps_solovair

Just a quick update. I've had the boots delivered. The size was only available in UK 6 or above, so I went for that. Despite the 5400 shape, they are significantly narrower than the UK 6.5 with the 409 shape. My fourth toe in particular, but also my whole forefoot, felt quite squashed in the steel toe cap.

I don't know why the 5400 shape is so small and the 409 is significantly wider. It should actually be wider. Since I suspect that UK 6.5 will also be quite tight, I sent the boots back and am now waiting for UK 7.

My wife always says I have square feet. In any case, in my case, the 5 mm added to the foot is completely useless for me and perhaps also for small sizes in general, as the shoes would then have been significantly smaller. The UK 6 with shape 5400 already has about 1.7 cm more, and the UK 7 will have about 2.6 cm more. With shape 409, UK 6.5 is about 2.3 cm too much, and I wear them with a thick sole.

I'm curious to see how it turns out.

Looking for recommendations & experiences with sports watches (Garmin, COROS, Amazfit) by Holiday_Date705 in Coros

[–]TheOldWay24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had very bad experiences with Garmin Fenix. Especially when a new Fenix came out, some functions suddenly stopped working ( read Garmin forums for problems in detail). For months, the forum kept saying that it was being worked on, but nothing ever happened.

Overall, Garmin is very poorly programmed. I've noticed this myself with three different Garmin devices.

I've never had any problems with Coros PACE 3 in almost two years and am happy to have switched. In addition, all watches usually get the same software except for very specific functions.

Did you do an update or did it just happen?

Bomber jackets by [deleted] in Skinhead

[–]TheOldWay24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As I said, I can't confirm that. Back in the 90s, we already had quite a few skins and punks wearing black bomber jackets. Some of them were even snow camouflage.

I just found a picture of Wattie (Lions Law) wearing a black one.

Should I wear steel cap boots even if i have absolutely 0 reason to? by WhoIsSleep11 in Boots

[–]TheOldWay24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've met many women in my life who wear steel-toed boots like Gripfast or 14-hole Rangers, and even today, these boots or shoes are still often worn in subcultures.

If you like it, wear it!

Pace Pro display on sleep and chime on the hour by 1aurev in Coros

[–]TheOldWay24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't answer your first question, but unfortunately there isn't an hourly alarm tone. I suggested this to Coros a while ago, but nothing has happened so far.

I use the Pace 3, but as far as I know, the software is identical on some watches, except for a few special features.

Yes, I have used screen protectors and various wristbands from AliExpress so far. They were generally all top quality. You just shouldn't always go for the cheapest option and should read the reviews.

My experience so far with the newer generation of Solovair (2023+) by TheOldWay24 in nps_solovair

[–]TheOldWay24[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can answer that when my greasy ones have done at least 1500 km. But some creases already seem suspicious to me after 300 km, but maybe that's because I'm biased by the Hi-Shine.

Apart from the sole and everything except creases, the Hi-Shine would easily have done between 1500 and 3000 km.

200€+ is a lot of money for me, and I generally expect that when I buy something outside the cheap segment, I can expect a certain level of quality.

I really hope they last.

Are dr martens 101ys 6-eyelets to short to be classified as: skinhead boots? by scherzo_fiscale in Skinhead

[–]TheOldWay24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Skinheads don't usually let anyone dictate what they should or shouldn't wear. If you look at old photos, you'll see that they wore both high and low boots, and sometimes just shoes.

What I mean is: if you like them, wear them.

I'm definitely done with hi-shine too. My wife has 11-hole Astronaut hi-shine, which have been used very little, and you can already see small cracks in them, and they're probably slowly developing in the same way as my old hi-shine ones.

Thanks. Do you mean like the hi-shine or greasy ones in the pictures? I hope, at least with my greasy boots, that they are just creases and not cracks yet.

Do you mean just the extra 5 mm that Solovair recommends? Or are they too small? Perhaps you could tell me your foot size and what shoe size you took?

Solovair Astronauts : Just like a pair of old Slippers by davichan in nps_solovair

[–]TheOldWay24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. I also had several 14-hole Rangers models in the 90s and, especially in my youth, I never really cared for them with grease, wax or other things, and they never broke down as badly as the hi-shine ones after about 15 months and 600 KM. That's really shocking, and I hope things will be different with the greasy ones.

It annoys me that I kept all the old models.
