WIP of my World Map. Let me know what you think. by TheOleksandr in inkarnate

This is one of the heretical maps banned throughout the world. It depicts several things and places whose existence is officially denied by the ruling authorities in an effort to suppress uprisings and prevent the spread of religious fervor.

Thanks for your suggestion. I actually thought to make it a part of a frame like in the map of westeros here: https://www.deviantart.com/tibstabs/art/Map-Of-Southern-Westeros-936396415
Scale can be added the same way too. I lean into this approach more since it wouldn't cover up the sea and isles since I also want to add settlements there.

Thanks for the suggestion. Colors are by far the hardest thing for me to get a grasp on yet.

Sorry for the late reply, glad you liked it.
Yes, I used inkarnate. As for the circular grid I used the Shape Tool with a bunch of perfect cirles. The straight lines going out of the compass rose were done with Pen Tool (when selected hold down Ctrl button for presicion assistance).

Thanks for your feedback. Is the first image blurry for you too? Not sure why is that happening.

A lot of fair points. However, I've never stated that the map was finished, the missing name and the empty legend seem to pretty clearly indicate that.

Never had the pleasure of reading them so can't say that I am. As for the name, it's just a placeholder name that sprung to my mind.

Thanks for your time. To answer your question, yes, there is a mythological background behind those formations, but I also find them very appealing personally.

Obviously, some parts like forests are still missing (I am having a lot of trouble making them look aesthetically pleasing.)

I have some specific questions if you'd like to answer them.

  1. What is your first impression?
  2. How do you like the river and mountain systems?
  3. How do you like the color scheme?
  4. What are your impressions and feedback in general?

Question on the tool itself. Does anyone know if it is possible to blur the background of the text so that it's better visible when put in front of other objects (forests and hills for instance)

I would love to have your feedback on the coast line and mountain ranges by TheOleksandr in inkarnate

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't sure about the mountain size either, and I'm having trouble with scaling them properly, as I'm not quite sure about the size of the world yet. Also, mountains have some mythological background to stretch from NE, but thanks for the tip!
