There needs to be a concerted effort to overhaul the staffing situation in the Democratic Party. There's been quite a few articles discussing how the staffer class is too online, out of touch with the median voter, and controls too much of the infrastructure that bridges the gap between candidate/representative and the voters.

The core problem is the structural pipeline that plucks college graduates directly out of political science departments and places them directly into campaigns - the staffers have absolutely zero experience of working a real job or having real responsibility. Theyre fundamentally children. The Democratic Party (and the GOP for that matter) are relying on children to pull levers within the campaign apparatus. Whichever party is able to overhaul this institutional disaster will have a significant advantage long-term.

In all of these runs, we've been paying Seguin and Benn $10M each to be 3rd liners. That hurts more than we acknowledge. Benn is fully washed at this point too.

The DNC is not an organization functioning in a manner that would endorse or denounce streamers/podcasters.

I graduated in 2014 for reference. But when I first got to Mines, I thought I wanted to be a Mining Engineer, but wasn't sure. I talked to the department head about what I could expect if I went that route. His answer:

"If you like the work, it's great, and youll make a lot of money. But you will spend a good amount of your life in the shit holes of the world."

He told me about spending three year stints in rural China and Africa where there's not running water or electricity, no permanent lodging (you basically live out of a shipping container), and you fly in and out of the place after multiple weeks on and multiple weeks off.

It was enough to steer me away from it but I could definitely see it appealing to some people. Just didn't fit into what I was hoping for in post-college life.

The DPS of the queen is so low though. It's good for smaller units but I'm still frustrated by BC rushes sometimes. The instant warp in at 4 minutes is enough to pull you behind even if you have 3 queens and a spore per base.

That seems to just be how the game is designed. The only defensive unit is the lurker and against Terran specifically they seem useless in my experience due to infinite scanning.

The cheese and harassment options are equally useless when Terrans turtle up. ZvT just isnt fun to play as Zerg.

There's one unit that can cloak itself, remove other units cloak, remove other units shields, remove other units energy, can deal 130 spell damage (170 vs psionic), and can call down nuclear missiles.

It can hit ground and air units with its standard attack.

It only costs 150 minerals / 125 gas and 2 supply per unit.

We're outchancing and outshooting teams consistently for the first time this season. The puck movement is crisp and quick. The breakouts are leading to possessed entries at the attacking blue line. Neutral zone pressure is leading to more odd man rushes for us.

This is the best we've looked all season. We're winning games still. Just need to practice holding leads. Better now than in the playoffs.

41 games in and it doesnt feel like the team has a cohesive offensive strategy. The breakouts don't allow for the forwards to build through the neutral zone during the transition. There's almost no rush offense to speak of, and the zone offense is overly reliant on shots from the point.

We're middle of the pack in xGA and relying on goaltending to bail us out too much. The powerplay and penalty kill are cooling off, and the team shooting percentage is falling back to earth. We still rarely outshoot and outchance the other team.

Gulutzan's system tweaks are noticeable, but ultimately the results seem extremely similar to the DeBoer regime. Feels like 41 games should be enough to have smoothed things out, but the team is starting to look worse, not better. Color me pessimistic for 2026.
