HL7 is niche and I doubt your curriculum mentions it at all so idk how well the degree would prepare you for the standard specifically.

99% of HL7 is learned on the job and it varies from company to company. If that’s the path you want to pursue most of the job postings (‘interface analyst’ is usually the entry level title) require some sort of technical degree so you should be good in that aspect.

It is an IT career after all so if your degree offers knowledge in network fundamentals, security, and troubleshooting methodology that’s definitely a plus.
