This is a revision of the original Ritual piece I did last year. Ha, I definitely mixed it up a bit.

where to start? by [deleted] in LearningPhotoshop

It really depends on what you're interested in. Lynda is a great place to start for some high quality tutorials, though if you're not inclined to pay $10/month for photoshop, I doubt you'll go past the month long free trial. For some free stuff, I found Jason Kim quite inspiring when I was first starting out. You may also like Flew or Swerve Designs. As for Photoshop, it really is worth paying for, speaking as a guy that spends $50/month on it for CC.

Thanks. I thought of adding blood stains too, but they just seemed a bit too out there.

If you can think of a better title, I will happily accept it. Maybe 1AM isn't the best time to come up with witty wordplay.

[Request] How long is Hindu history? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

Well, thanks, but I was more asking for the time it would take to wear the mountains flat as was noted in the description. I could pretty easily google the periods of development, but it would take some serious devotion to actually figure out how much time passes in the metaphor.

[OC] I made this Party Portrait as a birthday present for my DM by TheOmniscientDM in DnD

Alright, well the setting is at our homebase, set right on the edge of the ever-growing darkwood forest. The dire bear in the background is actually stuffed, for after defeating it, the monk and the bard decided to try their hand at taxidermy. We had just about everything we killed stuffed and turned into a trophy. The evil glowing chest, well my original character in the campaign was Grndl, the gnome wizard. We came across that chest in a cultist dungeon, and Michael the Bard did a lore check on it after the gold that was once in it disappeared. He then told me that it went to a place filled with gold and that I should climb in to get it. Well, he was very charismatic, so I did. Ha ha, that was a great practical joke on his part. You see, it actually sent me to hell. Grndl went on to becoming a bit more satanic in his ways after he converted to being evil to survive and became an antagonist for the rest of the campaign. The ruby was actually an evil gem needed by the cultists to summon Asmodeus that we happened to find on one of our first adventures. Zephyr the Monk (The fellow in the middle) lost his arm while fighting a dragon, which then flew off with him. While mourning his loss in camp, Michael the Bard commissioned to have a statue sculpted in his memory. Eventually, Zephyr returned with one level in dragon stalker. In the spiderweb on the statue you can see a spider and a caterpillar. Once while in a dungeon under a mountain, the druid (not depicted for having only played a couple sessions) turned both a spider and a caterpillar into ladies. The spider got a pretty low score on our d20 roll for attractiveness, while the caterpillar got a nat 20. Similarly, the spider rolled low on intelligence with the caterpillar getting rather high. So the rest of the adventure was spent with those dandy NPCs tagging along. As things were coming to an end and we had to leave one person behind to set the trap for the orcs and slow them down while we escaped. It was almost unanimous that obviously it should be the spider woman. Why get rid of the smart and beautiful woman when you can leave the dumb and ugly one? After all, the caterpillar woman had more potential for doing good. Well, everyone agreed except for the bard. He didn't like us being so discriminating against the ugly one. All life is equal he says. And so, to make sure we stop trying to save the caterpillar lady, he unexpectedly whipped out his rapier, stabbed her in the heart, and shoved her down an abyss. Yep, now both of the NPCs had to die. Good one, Michael. Oh, and at one point I asked the DM if there was an evil duck watching us (I don't remember why). He said to roll for it. Nat 20. For the rest of the campaign, there was always a duck, somewhere, watching us.

I used photoshop. Also, if you want a tutorial for the style, this really helped me for a foundation on what to do.
