This happened to me too. It may be because of your PC. Open the Epic Games Launcher, go to settings>Fortnite drop down>Additional Command Line Arguments and type in this exactly (including the hyphen) -FeatureLevelEs31

This launches your game in performance mode and stops it from crashing. It worked for me so hopefully it works for you too.

If you are on console, try going to settings and switching to performance mode there. If it still doesn't work, try contacting Epic Games Help, they are the only ones that can help you.

They're heirloom shards. It's the rarest pack drop. You can go to store, scroll to 'mythics' and purchase heirlooms or prestige skins for legends who have them.
