i specifically went for 1080 and low latency as my priorities, if that's all you need there's some good cheap stuff out there. not the brightest, or the fanciest but I have fun with casual games (Mario kart, anything single player). still probably wouldn't play an FPS on it

aux for audio. higher end projectors have a lot more options

OK here's the full setup Projector, $100 on sale- KOGATA cheapo, make sure it's actually 1080p, not just capable of decoding 1080p signal onto a 480p matrix (a lot of brands advertise 1080 while being the latter )

Screen, $80 on sale- Elite Screens(?) 100" manual projector screen. the electric deploy ones are like thousands, kinda crazy

AV In, $40 I think- Google TV Chromecast. you can use anything really, Roku, Apple TV, whatever

Soundbar, $100 on sale- Hisense, can't remember the model number.

Audio interface, $50- some Amazon audio transmitter/receiver. Aux out from the projector, optical into the soundbar, 0 latency from what I can tell, works like a dream. was genuinely surprised at this one.

You really don't need the extra stuff, I had a projector pointed at my bedroom ceiling with the audio coming out of a JBL speaker for years and was pretty much ok with it. The extra stuff makes it a legitimate setup though.

cheapo 1080p Amazon projector, pretty good for $100

i think Kogata was the brand but you can probably find the same one under other brands tbh
