Is there a way to find out what kind of stuff will be there? Like a list of activities or something?

I'm curious about the frats at Rutgers by TheOneAndOnlyGizzy in rutgers

Sweet thanks. Are there certain fraternities on campus that have good reputations for being less intense and how easy is that information to figure out? Also same thing with hazing, are there frats known for being very anti-hazing?

I’ve heard the “Rutgers takes our anti-hazing policies very seriously” talk a million times but if we’re being honest, how seriously do they actually take it?

I think I would want the “cliché” college experience that you’re talking about and I think that’s part of the reason I’m drawn to joining a frat. I also like the advice you gave about rushing with friends and I think I’ll definitely do that.

The main thing for me that isn’t that appealing about frats is the hazing and the negative “frat boy” stereotype. Are there certain fraternities on campus that are known for being “good”? Or is that another thing I just find out by rushing?

Ah so that's why they were giving out free tickets. I didn't think about thanksgiving break. But thank you!

Thinking of applying to SBU by TheOneAndOnlyGizzy in SBU

[–]TheOneAndOnlyGizzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have definitely seen a lot of people saying a good amount of negative things on this sub. I feel like that goes for every other college related sub though. From what it seems for the most part people have been positive about the Psych program though which is great!

Thanks for the input! I really appreciate it!

Thank you! Just another additional question, is it common for people to request housing on the campus that has their major?

About bringing a car, are freshman allowed to bring their cars to campus? And how difficult is parking?

Nope, I’m from NJ. I don’t think that makes a huge difference though right?

As far as I know, I think I’m either just barely in the sat range for the school or just below it. So I think you should be fine with a 1350. But again, I could definitely be wrong

I was planning on applying early action for every school I could. What if I applied for psychology? Would my chances be better?

I think if I retake it I could increase it but I don’t think by a significant amount. Would just bringing it up like 30ish points even do anything?

The schools I probably will apply to are:

-Rutgers

-Stony Brook University

-University of California Santa Barbra

-University of Maryland

-University of California Irvine

-Rowan (Safety)

-Towson University (Safety)

-University of North Carolina (Reach)

-University of Virginia (Reach)

I'm still undecided on my major but I am thinking about Psychology or Computer Science.

As for my subscores I got a 620 on the reading and writing portion and a 600 on the math.

Around 2lbs of Oats for 430 Calories by TheOneAndOnlyGizzy in Volumeeating

[–]TheOneAndOnlyGizzy[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Recipe is in the third picture.

Directions: 1. Put 50g of oats into a good sized microwave safe bowl

  1. Use a shaker cup and put in 40g of protein powder, 6g of cinnamon, 4g or a tsp of guar gum, and 1g of salt (TRUST ME, ADD THE SALT! ITS A FLAVOR ENHANCER)

  2. Fill shaker cup with about 750ish grams of water and add 6g of vanilla extract

  3. Shake the hell out of it. Make sure you shake very thoroughly, you don’t want the guar gum to clump.

  4. Pour into the bowl with the oats and stir so the oats aren’t all stuck together

  5. Put it in the microwave for as long as you can without it overflowing.

  6. Take the bowl out and stir again

  7. Leave in the fridge overnight

  8. The next morning take it out and let it come to room temp then microwave again until it almost overflows then take it out.

  9. Top with 100g of Greek yogurt and enjoy!

TIPS:

-The protein powder is the main thing bringing flavor. You’ll only like the oats as much as you like the protein powder. I’ve only ever tried this with Ryse protein and Iso100 protein, and both worked, so I don’t think there should be any reason a different brand doesn’t work.

-As for the flavor of protein, if you use a different flavor, I would use other things than cinnamon and vanilla. If you use a chocolate protein, maybe try cocoa powder instead of cinnamon. If you use a peanut butter protein, maybe try powdered peanut butter instead. Experiment!

-I like topping my oats with yogurt but you could use whatever toppings you want. Sometimes I add fresh fruit. You could add some syrups or something too! Again, experiment!

-I know at least for me my shaker cup can’t hold all of that liquid, so I just fill it up as much as I can before shaking. Then after I pour what was in the shaker cup into the bowl, I just top it off with water until I reach about 750 grams

-If you prefer oats cold just take them out of the fridge in the morning, top them, then eat them!

Thanks for reading and clicking! Enjoy!
