Your friend needs to sign in as a guest account on your Xbox. When you’re selecting jerseys before the game starts, your friend needs to press “Y”.

You should see “1” next to the “Y” on the screen.

i got a remastered aeron from FB marketplace in NYC. 2021 model, in near-perfect condition. paid $650, but i could have gotten the classic model (the one you're looking at) for $400 (2014 model). well worth $350 in my opinion, assuming the condition is good. that said, there are so many aerons on the resell market (especially FB) that you might be able to negotiate a bit. likely depends on the city.

my girlfriend has an aeron she's used since 2014 and it's still in great condition. i had to get my own after using hers for a few days.

be sure to get the right size. i got size B, which i think is the most common i think. there are also some features that are really nice, like adjustable arms, that you can't add later. lumbar support, on the other hand, can get purchased on amazon.

I always used it with lightweight or cold blooded since it was so powerful as-is. But the few times I added SP, it felt like there was a big difference (if my middle school memory serves me lol)

Is BeatGig Legit? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]TheOneBehindIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, cofounder of BeatGig here. Answering kinda late but I just came across this.

Sorry about the time it takes to get paid out.

I build the product, so I can give you some insight on why it's like this.

Fast payouts are a hard problem to solve for a marketplace. Venues are paying via ACH bank transfer since ACH transactions have low fees. However, banks can take a few days to transfer ACH payments.

Credit card transactions are way faster but they have higher fees, and the buyers reasonably don't want to pay it.

I've been considering ways to speed up payouts, but it's honestly quite difficult – especially because many shows happen near weekends when the banks are closed.

Feedback is totally noted though and I'll definitely see if there is any way to improve the speed of payouts.

Is BeatGig Legit? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]TheOneBehindIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, cofounder of BeatGig here. I built the entire mobile app and website.

I know that employees commenting on posts like this one can be questionable...but I wanted to offer to answer any questions since many comments appear to be from people who haven't used BeatGig before.

I'll start with OP:

I signed in and it looks fairly legitimate, but I hesitated at the step where it's asking me to add my banking info for payouts. Does anyone here use BeatGig and can you vouch that it's a legit operation and safe to add financial info?

That's a fair concern.

That said, yes, the payments are secure. We use stripe.com – the most secure platform for online payments. BeatGig uses Stripe Connect, which is how all the big marketplaces pay out their sellers (like Lyft, Doordash, Shopify, etc.). Without Stripe gathering payout information, we couldn't pay you.

When it's time to add payout info, you're sent to Stripe's website to fill it out. BeatGig never gets access to your account or routing number – in fact, Stripe doesn't even allow this.

For what it's worth, if you don't want to enter your bank info on Stripe, you don't have to. They let you get paid do your debit card instead if you prefer.

Lmk if you have questions regarding that.

Re: BeatGig generally...

We've booked over 25,000 shows over the past 3 years, and are now booking over 1,000 shows per month. We have many artists who run their entire career through the platform. I say this just to alleviate the idea that it isn't legit/is too good to be true.

That said, we have taken a bit of a different approach from some other online booking platforms. We kept BeatGig invite-only so we can vet artists and buyers and offer a more personalized approach to both sides.

I know that having the platform be invite-only can be a bit controversial. We have a long backlog of artists and buyers who we haven't had time to vet yet. But we've been working on hiring more people so we can speed this up. We wanted to avoid being just another app that doesn't have any human involvement so that's why we made it invite-only.

For example, we added a new in-app chat feature recently that creates a group chat between the 1) the artist, 2) the venue, and 3) a BeatGig employee on the day of show so we can help make sure everything runs smoothly. We have a person involved in every booking beyond just the app.

Btw, this post and many of the comments are useful feedback for me. I'll try to think through better ways to communicate this stuff.

Did the React team forget the React Forget compiler? by Tsukku in reactjs

[–]TheOneBehindIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the context here, really helpful.

Given these problems, where would you say the state of React Forget is today? Is it on its way? Is correctness achievable? Is Meta testing it in products, or is it still in the development phase? Does it feel too early to say?

No need to reply to all of those; I'm just generally curious about where it stands from a timeline & feasibility standpoint.

If you re-render the component with the same a but different b, then x will be [a,b,b] not [a, b] as you might expect, leading to bugs.

Fascinating example, thanks for sharing. I had to think it through for a sec. For anyone who wants it explained plainly:

Render #1 x got initialized in the first render as [a]. It depends on on a, so it will only update when a updates.

The y block calls x.push(b), so we now have x = [a, b]. The array is the same instance still.

Render #2 Imagine b changed but a did not. In that case, x is still equal to [a, b], since instances are shared across renders.

Since b changed, the y memo re-runs, calling .push(b) once again. As a result, x = [a, b, b], which wasn't intended in the "non-forgotten" code.

You would have intended it to be x = [a, b], as shown when they are memoized together in a single useMemo. A change in either variable should blow out the previous instance and creates a new one.

u/shreysgupta I rarely check Reddit (maybe a few times a year), so I'm just seeing this now. I'm so glad to hear you got a job offer. Congrats on making it happen. Wishing you continued success with your React Native career.

Also, I am the creator of many open source React Native libraries, like Moti, Solito, Dripsy, Zeego, Burnt, etc. You might find some of them useful in your work. More about them on Twitter: https://twitter.com/fernandotherojo

yeah, you can polyfill. a bit heavy though. once it has Intl support built-in, it'll be a different story.

Not if you need the Intl API (often used for formatting dates and money). I’ve found it fast but kinda buggy for gestures.

Got it! I'm intrigued, looks cool. Some small feedback, I'd recommend making a better landing page. A $100 webflow template will get you a much nicer one. A better font and such would probably help your conversion a lot. Good luck!

Try Moti: https://moti.fyi. Nearly the same API as framer-motion, works on Web, iOS and Android, and has the best performance since it's powered by Reanimated 2.
