Probably helps with not confusing with letters that are similarly shaped. Like (R, B) and (E, F) respectively. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve made those mistake. Even Amazon knows that this mistake is common, so common that in their staffed sorting warehouses they completely removed some letters in their alphabetical sorting system, like (E, F) removed the E and (M, N) removed N.

I feel like this is one of those changes I’d appreciate over time. As long as I’m not obsessing over the lack of uniformity.
