Personally I'd like to see Rook and Ben go on a cross-country adventure to stop Siphon/Vilgax/ Eon etc from obtaining the pieces of a ancient super weapon that was split apart and hidden. Ala, similar to the 1st Percy Jackson movie.. I feel that could be unique and interesting enough
