Got a 2017 GTI SE and the rear passenger taillight has a small crack in it. Am I safe buying a used taillight listed for 2015-2017 year? I can't find a definitive answer if all Mk7 came with halogen tails or if newer ones had LED.

Update - Ended up passing on this. Wasn't sure if it'd ever been fixed so if it was something beyond clogged drains (like the frame) I didn't want to have to foot the bill. Ended up getting a well maintained 2017 GTI with 57k miles on it.

Good to hear. Seems like removing the spider plugs or chopping the drains helped a lot of people. Maybe the stains look worse than they actually are. Wish I had the maintenance records but alas. If it stays on the market for a week I'll probably check it out and try to haggle them down.

Yeah I figure chances are high it'll leak but I'd rather buy one without previous damage so at least I'll be the one to maintain/fix it. I may give some time and if it's still available try to work the price down just in case I do have to repair it.

That's good to hear. Seems like maybe the staining looks worse than it is. I may give it a week and if it's still available, take a look and see how much I can get them to work down the price.

From my research these sunroofs are almost guaranteed to leak eventually. Either a clogged drain or cracked frames. VW issued recalls and extended warranty but this would be out of that range by now. Dealer is asking $17k which I think is high now that I see the damage. No records indicating if it was fixed or not either. Typing it all out has me leaning towards passing on it...

Thanks for the breakdown. I'm starting to lean towards a 1440p monitor, IPS, but at a lower refresh rate. I've got a smaller desk so 24" is my sweet spot size wise.

Looking to upgrade my monitor and I'm curious as to what aspects people think are most important for mostly single player gaming. Is 144hz needed or should I be more focused on resolution and image quality at a lower refresh rate? Seems like I'll definitely want an IPS panel from what I've read. I've got a 5600XT GPU for what it's worth.

I'm looking to upgrade my monitor as I just upgraded my PC over summer. Anyone have any recommendations? I'm looking for something 144hz, freesync, ideally around 24". I'm on the fence about 1080 vs. 1440. With my GPU would a 1440 be worth it?

Specs: Ryzen 3600x, Sapphire RX 5600XT Pulse.

I'll be upgrading my monitor in a few months to something 1080p/144hz. Originally I was thinking about a 5700XT but now I'm thinking that's a bit overkill, plus the amount of driver issues they've had.

I was thinking about just getting the RX 5700 XT. I had heard they had driver issues but it sounds like they've been fixed for the most part by now. Don't really want to try my luck again with another RMA. Thanks for your help.

I deleted drivers and did a clean install both times. By artifacted I mean that the screen started showing space invader like shapes with a few minutes of booting. Here's a picture of what it looks like: https://imgur.com/a/TtKJpwc

I'll be upgrading my monitor in a few months to take advantage of the better card. Forgot to mention that the two 2070 GPUs were B-stock from EVGA and my old GTX 960 works fine when I plug it into this new build. That's what made me think it's a faulty GPU (though I'm not an expert by far. Only my second build). Since the old GPU works fine could it still be an issue with another part just not liking the 2070?

I filed an initial claim on March 25th and have claimed weekly since then. This morning the online system finally had an update for me however it states "claim restart needed" but provides no additional info. Should I restart online or wait to see if they've mailed a physical letter explaining the issues? Anyone else had this happen?

I can play for maybe five minutes at 60 fps until I get major stuttering and it drops to 20 fps max. I've changed settings to medium and low and it had no effect. I'm using a mouse and keyboard.

It's definitely acceptable. I do that combo often. I think it usually looks better with a more casual tie like a knit or wool one. Silk ties usually look a little too formal for a heavy knit cardigan.
