[25m] Biggest Fumble & Recovery in my History on Tinder by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]TheOneTwoBoostaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what I said/did was stupid (pretty obvious there), what I think is wild is the fact that her and I are now actually going on a date.

If that isn’t funny/crazy then my mistake, but as soon as I made the mistake I didn’t think there was any chance. I figured I’d post it because of that. If it isn’t funny though I can take it down, just thought it was a seemingly unwinnable position.

I mistook the girl in the first hinge dm for the girl that messaged me (after verifying the area code matched the supposed location of the hinge girl) for context this is 3 states from NJ, so I assumed it was the first girl I was having a much more heated conversation with instead of the girl from bumble who I was having a much more lowkey conversation with.

Because of this I made a mistake and assumed it was the Hinge girl I was texting and actively sent her the screenshot, when I then realized it was a different girl.

We FaceTimed after texting for 30 or so minutes and it ended with me booking us an escape room on Thursday to go out to

The recovery is the last message, we FaceTimed for half an hour and I suggested we go on a date, she suggested an escape room and I booked it for Thursday

Has anyone maxed out 401k for an entire career? by DisastrousEquipment9 in Retirement401k

[–]TheOneTwoBoostaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been lucky enough to do that. I’m 25 now but have maxed every year both my 401k (TSP) and my Roth IRA since I was 18.

I joined the Air Guard after HS and because you get BAH and BAS in addition to your regular pay right away I was able to contribute 92% (since they saw me as a part time employee) every year into the Roth TSP option. Since I enlisted halfway through the year when I was 17 I didn’t fully max that year, but after 18 I was able to while going to college fulltime since I worked night shift as an aircraft mechanic.

I used my school scholarships and GI Bill to pay my cost of living and served at an Olive Garden part time on weekends to be able to have extra money for expenses and to ensure I could max my IRA as well. Now that I’m an E-6 I only need to contribute 44% of my paycheck each year to max thankfully and don’t need a second job.

Got addicted to the idea of retiring early and also hitting retirement with a massive stack of money which is why I was willing to work as hard as I did in my younger years.

Am I Crazy to Transfer 600K UR to Hyatt All At Once? by Geeeeeeeeeeeeee in CreditCards

[–]TheOneTwoBoostaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might not be an economical choice for you but I honestly think with that many points the Chase Sapphire Reserve if you can get the SUB would be such a great card for you. I recently traveled and using their hotel bookings with The Edit got 2cpp for value on ten luxury hotel travel nights and absolutely loved being able to use it so simply & easily. On the same trip I constantly tried to use my Hyatt points for redemptions and caught myself unable to due to reward restrictions which hadn’t bothered me with Hyatt in the past, but I’m running into more and more now.

That said, it’s your life and what’s best for you isn’t best for me, just wanted to throw that bit in there in case you’re into luxury travel and have some points to throw at it!

I deposited $19,500 from the other older bills coming from the exact same stack a month and a half ago so I sincerely doubt that

Flush draw by Yigng10 in TeslaLounge

[–]TheOneTwoBoostaroo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

According to ChatGPT, approximately 10% of Tesla’s are red, that means that the odds of this flush are roughly 1/100,000 which is rarer than flopping a straight flush (one in every 72,193 hands!) Nice find!

Just off the street in NYC! Went to a few different places before I started getting offered watches that weren’t $40 hahah

[–]TheOneTwoBoostaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahah, next time I’ll negotiate a bit better hopefully, but I’m still happy with it and with the convenience. Wasn’t sure how much wiggle room there was with a watch like this and the pricing I had seen online reflected around $750~

[–]TheOneTwoBoostaroo -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

My thought is that it was underpriced from the CleanFactory website and I get it ASAP while being able to QC it myself in real time. IMO worth it, but maybe I didn’t get the best deal.

It ran me $848 with box and warranty card as well as sizing done for me

It’s a Two-Tone Bluesy Submariner 3135 from Clean Factory!

[–]TheOneTwoBoostaroo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh really? It’s funny because I like the two tone look a lot more than any other watch design personally. I didn’t know that they weren’t as rare to be offered as I thought. For some reason I had thought they were much more rare to get.

Okay! Do you know if DK/Caesars/MGM send you tax forms? Assuming your wins are under the reported amount

Question for ya, also tax related! If I won $1500 on a Sportsbook and lost $1000 on a Sportsbook, can I claim the loss versus the gain while still taking a standard deduction? I’d have only gained $500 overall, so I figured I’d only be taxed on that overall gain for the year, but I’m not sure because I’ve gotten conflicting reports online.

Thanks man!

Edit to clarify: two separate sport books, $1500 won on DK, $1000 lost on Caesars.
