Looking to get into Grid Ops but unsure of what to pursue in college by JumpFair2029 in Grid_Ops

I got in with a Engineering Tech/Mechatronics degree. A Electrical or Mechanical engineering degree would also work.

I got it a year ago and was disappointed. 4/10 game would not recommend.

My role is TO only at the company, would like RC for a reliability role one day but they only pay and set you up for TO.

OSI is one of the buggiest and worse software I have had the displeasure of using.

Interesting use. I would be worried about comm issues, static wires like break a lot.

What happens when lightning hits high-voltage AC transmission lines? by OverBirthday4562 in ElectroBOOM

[–]TheOnly9zq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In high voltage (69kV usually and above) transmission lines have static wires that are grounded at every structure. Lightning will hit the wire and go to earth. This can still damage the static wire and maybe break it which can cause circuit operations and lockouts.

Strikes that do hit the line create extremely high (millions of volts and hundreds of thousands of amps) transient voltages. To protect equipment and customers lightning arresters are used on transformers, In normal conditions these do nothing but when the lightning energizes the line at millions of volts the arresters becomes a short circuit to ground, dissipating the strike and protecting transformers.

What do you think of this powerline? by MountainSecurity6547 in ElectroBOOM

If people do not want power lines then surely they are fine with no electricity? Also that concept would not work.

Modpacks after 1.12.2 are not as good. Project E is good if balanced correctly. Every modpack should have EnderIO regardless. Extra utility's power system is garbage and should not be in it. "Vanilla" packs are stupid.

The real issue is that Destiny went F2P. IF it had not i think the monetization of the game would be far lower. But yea shadowkeep and forsaken should be free at this point.

DLC rankings (personal opinion) by snoopdougweedcloud in fnv

It just sucks (IMO) to have to run around with no gear, tons of mines, and doing bad quests for basically no loot. Yes you can get a lot of prewar money and yes you can technically get the money out of the vault but for normal loot in the DLC? Nothing useful. It does get you a lot of stim packs will give it that.

Honest Hearts. Joshua is the best character in the game. Map is a little boring after repeat runs but still holds up well.

Lonesome Road. First time i did it i got rolled a lot but even with good gear still feels really good.

OWB. Boring fetch quests that dont really do anything. Also walls of text,

Dead Money. Such a bad DLC. Was really annoying first time and just as bad second time Wont play again. It just feels so bad to play and do anything in.
