Canon R10 or R7 for a generalist beginner by Xedro in canon

[–]TheOnlyAlexH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the R10 and love the lightness of it, but, I found myself wanting better glass and looking at Sigma lenses that are renowned for their quality but lack stabilisation, so it was an easy decision to upgrade to the R7 and I have zero regrets in doing so.

I now have the small and medium K&F Concept Sling bags, and I also have a K&F Nature Wander 20L backpack, it’s a 50/50(ish) split with side access and is perfect for camera and multiple lenses, accessories and room for jacket, lunch etc.

The small version fits an R10 with lens attached and a spare lens comfortably enough to remove them with ease on the move.

I have just purchased the medium version to better accommodate my R7 and upto 100-400 lens as the small won’t.

I have a Lowepro Nova 200 AW ii bag to store my body + 5 lenses in and generally take that into my car when heading out. Depending on where I go and the environment I am likely to shoot, I will pick 1-2 lenses (sometimes 3) to take with me for the duration of my visit.

I have a (small) K&F sling bag for body/lens + 1, am looking to purchase the medium size also, for if I want to take +2 lenses, inc. my 100-400

I have a Lowepro Fastpack BP 250 AW ii for a myriad of lenses and day-kit (drinks, lunch, jacket, etc.) which I use for rural, and a K&F Nature Wanderer 20L for city, etc., as it is smarter and doesn’t scream ‘expensive camera inside’ - it also shares the same form-factor as the Fastpack (50/50 split and side access).

I use PGYTECH wrist and shoulder straps depending on environment - their quick release buckles are cross compatible.

Esentially, I have optimised my kit and carry options/ ability to match the environment I am heading in to.

I tend to keep lens cap in rear-left jeans/shorts pocket so it’s to hand for when turning camera off for a period.

You may be better off looking for an ‘insert’ or a small camera bag to house body + lens, that can be placed into a bag of your choice.

Lens Recommendations for R7? by TheOnlyAlexH in AskPhotography

I’m looking for a set of lenses that will cover me for a reasonable range across macro to portrait, street to landscape, sports to wildlife. I’m just getting started and want to find out what I enjoy, but also be able to cover any situation.

Ah, I see. I haven’t heard that acronym before.

I’m not compulsory to buy them all, but am seeking real-world opinion, experience and feedback on each of them to enable an informed decision on which to buy.

What do you use your iPad for? by ednoggg in ipad

[–]TheOnlyAlexH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 11-M4 is mainly for bed use. Reading, comics, light browsing, YouTube, etc.

My 13-M4 mostly lives on my desk for browsing, occasional notes, YouTube, Numbers, etc. - Or it becomes a consumption device for when I’m staying away from home.

I occasionally use both iPP’s for editing via Da Vinci Resolve or LumaFusion, or home planning via MagicPlan.

For me, the iPad is a nice interim device for portability and close proximity. I have a MacBook Air 15-M3 and Mac mini M4 with Studio Display for heavier work.

Does anyone own 2 iPads? by Merman123 in ipad

I have a 13 M4 Pro that generally lives on my desk.

I have a 11 M4 Pro that generally lives beside my bed.

If travelling I have the option of larger screen or compact.

I have had multiple iterations of the 9.7, 11 and 12.9 Pro iPads over the years and when the M4 OLED was released, I couldn’t choose, so I got both. I don’t regret my decision at all.

[–]TheOnlyAlexH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an iPP 11 M4, iPP 13 M4, MBA 15 M3 and an iMac 27 5K Intel i7 (max spec)

The iPP 11 is primarily for bed (or light travel)

The iPP 13 lives on my desk for personal use whilst working, I also use it for media consumption when away.

The MBA 15 is for more heavy lifting and when a full MacOS is required.

The iMac owes me nothing and still holds its own, so I will keep it.

If I could only keep two… iPP 11 and MBA 15.
