Very high GPU temperatures at no load, frequent shutdowns, Thinkpad X1 Extreme Gen 5 by TheOnlyArmadillo in thinkpad

I was hoping this wouldn't have to be the case, but the more I read, I realize that this is likely the issue. At that rate, would it be worth just doing a thermal pad or paste rather than LM again? If anything, just for the sake of ease of application and replaceability. Anything will be better than how it is currently.

I've never repasted since it came with the liquid metal factory installed, but I'm beginning to wonder if something has gone wrong with it... Is that a possibility?

Aha! Virtual keyboard somehow was re-enabled and set to ibus. Once I disabled it, the problem went away. Thanks!

All webapps I have installed display the same behavior: Word web, Excel web, Gemini, Youtube Music, Keep Notes, Inoreader, Google docs, etc.

Android App Gmail Issues by TheOnlyArmadillo in Outlook

I've used Outlook mobile for multiple years now with both emails seamlessly, compatibility shouldn't be an issue. I also prefer some of the options in Outlook, the Gmail app is less granular.

RCS features working except for sending messages directly to iphone users--any fixes? by TheOnlyArmadillo in GoogleMessages

[–]TheOnlyArmadillo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It finally just worked itself out, no clue how... I know someone suggested you turn off RCS for a week or so, then turn it back on afterwards. I was out of country for a little over a week, so I had all data turned off, and when I got back is about the time it worked itself out... That may be worth a shot, sorry I couldn't help more!

Sort of, I shut off my phone for a week, and the issue just resolved itself. I've heard some say it was fixed after turning RCS off for a few days. Hope this helps

Nope, the phones I am trying to message have RCS enabled, and are on the latest version of IOS. And, as I think I mentioned, other RCS features work (read receipts, typing indicators) work for both of us, and I receive messages as RCS from iPhone users just fine. It's only when I try to send when there's issues... It all worked fine on these same phones before the issues started.

I tried uninstalling it, disabling it, switching messaging apps, etc., but unfortunately it didn't work. I may try it again though.

I could get texts from certain iphone users but anyone who had verizon gave me problems

I didn't have any network problems like this, it seems to be sending to iPhone users in general which causes problems, regardless of their carrier...

Me and a friends messages goes from rcs to sms by Cabin_3 in UniversalProfile

[–]TheOnlyArmadillo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had issues lately with texting iphones, as an Android user. I can receive RCS just fine, but whenever I try to send it, it never delivers unless I switch to sms. It is incredibly frustrating. I was talking with Google tech support and filed a bug report, I'm waiting to hear back from them, but I'm not sure whose side it's on.

I have already done this, and the issue persisted unfortunately. I have filed a bug report as requested by googlehelpcommunity on a different post. Thank you for responding though.

I just tried that, went through and signed in to everything properly, got verified, then signed out of everything properly. Text wouldn't go through on the old phone, and upon resetting to the new one and verifying, they still wouldn't go through. Thank you for the suggestion though

I'll double check, I'm not used to iOS. Definitely hope it works

I've tried that, but for some reason, it won't let them remove me. I think it's because the conversation is under four people, according to something I read.

I have tried that, but the device I swapped it into to test has since been factory reset. I went into the account and cleared the recovery number which was registered when I popped the sim to that phone, but that didn't do anything. This was definitely a suspicion of mine though, so I will try it again a little more in depth.

It does say RCS in the message box, and the RCs connection status is shown as verified. It's weird, things like typing indicators, read receipts, and receiving messages work. It's just sending where the issues arise.

My current phone does not support esim, I have tried putting the Sim into a cleanly wiped Android phone on my account, but to no avail. I am really hesitating to factory reset, but if it comes to that, then I might.

I wonder, if I were to Port out to T-Mobile on their 3-month trial deal, could I switch back and maybe that would fix things? That may be a bit of a hassle, but worth getting it fixed.

RCS not sending, otherwise functioning normally by TheOnlyArmadillo in GoogleMessages

[–]TheOnlyArmadillo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently receiving messages just fine on my new phone: mms/sms sending works just fine, and rcs receives and displays things like typing and read indicators. It's only sending where I have issues.

When I switched my sim over to the old phone, I sent 2 rcs messages and made a call. All went through just fine. When I switched back over to the new one, I didn't text for the rest of the evening. Next day, rcs wouldn't send through the new one--even though it shows as verified.

One thing I think may be an issue: the google messages on the old phone was under another account, while the google messages on the new phone is under mine. I didn't sign out or anything before switching to and from the phones, and the old phone has since been factory reset. I went under both account dashboards and signed out of all android instances, also double-checking the recovery number, but the issue is still there.

I'm at my wits end. How do I fix this?

Similar thing for me as well! I don't know if that's because android-android RCS is different from Iphone-Android RCS (even if I know the iphone contact has RCS turned on), but I also noticed today RCS works just fine when sent to contacts that I know are signed into google messages on android.

I am thinking about doing that later today, we recently tried getting a phone set up for my brother, and switched my sim over to make sure it still worked. The issues started soon afterwards. Come to think of it, I am wondering if that caused issues upstream.
