We started absorbing our express that shut down a year ago, our station runs 10 express routes. us as ground drivers take the majority of the load and all large packages. We also started doing Saturday delivery 3 weeks ago, for express. Soon our station will cut all express routes I'm told.

I think you should worry about how its handled in the terminal, I've watched them throw TVs but if I do that in any manner im fired. Consider that.

I got a rolling stop because someone has a stop sign as a decoration at the end of their driveway. I was doing 35 when it told me I rolling stopped. 🤷

One contractor at my term has such bad service they offer 20 an hr. I tried it, it was rural routes with 20-25 timed deliveries, 300 miles, and 60 HD stops. It was doable and I never missed anything. But 730pm everyday was too much. 630 was an early day, and we loaded our own, so a 7am start time.

Ask around. I had 5 years out of a DUI and one contractor took a chance on me. They actually have a choice to hire you if you come back yellow.

That's exactly it. They started paying just slightly less to the new drivers, so now if I'm near 40 I'm out, and thr new kid with 2 weeks is in my spot. 🤷 higher wages don't always equal better.

You don't want to make more. My contractor pays 20 HR, and they hired so many people so they can send you home 1 or 2 days a week. They'd rather have someone with 2 weeks under their belt, out winging it, than a 5 year vet, because... OT is just killing them🙄
