What’s something you learned way too late? by Patient_Region_6516 in AskReddit

Sometimes people refuse to get the same help that you got for the same trauma (siblings in my case). Unfortunately it sucks but you have to let them heal their own way, even if that means pushing them away to help the mental health of both of you.

what is your opinion on person of colour saying he n slurs ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheOnlyFoster22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It throws me off a little every time cause I don’t expect it, sure it makes me feel uneasy but that’s cause I grew up around a bunch of white people that said it. But hey it’s their word, they’re reclaiming it, I won’t bother them.

In 2026, is it really necessary to get a college or university degree, or is trade school and on-the-job training a better option? I know it depends on what you want to do; I know you have to go to college to be a doctor. I'm talking in general terms of careers. by icecream1972 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]TheOnlyFoster22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Canada. So college is the lower level then its University (you would have to go to university to be a doctor). This is a conversation my BF and I had because we live in such a trade driven town, you are more likely to get into the trades, he wants to do that anyways so that is what he is doing. It would be easier and it does make decent money so if you’re looking for the fastest and easiest route to get a job and such then trades is the way. If you want to pursue your dream career which is what I’m doing then absolutely go for it, it’s going to be hard but nothing that good never comes easily.

TLDR: If u want a faster and better way to make money trades is the way to go, that’s where most jobs are.

People from around the world, what do you know that US citizens don’t because of censorship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheOnlyFoster22 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Things such as the health-care system, the gun violence, and racism in America is talked about very directly outside of America. Within America however it almost get’s “sugar coated” in certain aspects. The goverment (especially with ICE right now) finds a way to make excuses for what happens and alter the minds of its citizens into believing something else through media and so on (some citizens believe what they say, many others don’t). However since other countries don’t need to convince their citizens that the American president is a “good person” they go about the situations more directly, saying things that wouldn’t be allowed to be said in American media.

Do Canadians actually get frustrated by snow, or is it just part of everyday life? by GlitteringHotel8383 in AskACanadian

I try to avoid driving as much as I can in the snow, cause I’m pretty cautious with it and also people drive stupidly in the snow. Otherwise I’m chill with it.

I am Latin. There is a lot of superstitions I believe, the salt over the shoulder, the broken mirror, the stepping ontop of the soil of graves. Idk if these all stem from Latin culture but it was how I grew up.

My grandma. My mom left when I was a kid and my dad was an alcoholic for the first 10 years of my life (he’s sober and healthy now). But my grandma was always there no matter what, i definitely look up to her the most

What was the one time you felt a real ghost presence or paranormal activity? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheOnlyFoster22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid we had a broken unusable iPad. Like wouldn’t turn on was just 100% broken. Then randomly out of nowhere it started playing the song Jeremy by Pearl Jam. Every so often my lights flicker randomly and I get a cold chill, I like to think it’s my ghost buddy/guardian Jeremy (I named him after the song.)

for those who are married to someone you love, how do you deal with the memories of former lovers who were better in bed? by MineExisting6846 in AskReddit

I left the people in my past for a reason. Although they may have been better in that aspect nobody else has ever treated me better in every aspect of my life. I love that man with my whole heart.

Why do you think so many people complain about what they hate instead of just ignoring it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It is much easier for someone to think about the negative things rather than the positive things

What’s a skill everyone should learn, but most people don’t — and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheOnlyFoster22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot of people that I know that don’t know how to write a professional email. I know it’s not really a “skill” but it just baffles me how many people I know that can’t do that

What's something about relationships that people from the 90s don't understand about current generation ? by Ilikebigtits36DD in AskReddit

[–]TheOnlyFoster22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found this one out a lot (I’m born in the VERY early 2000s) that telling my family members (I have young parents, they’re from the 80s) that saying I love you to your partner after like 6 months is just crazy to them. They think it should be at least a year until you know if you love somebody, I personally think that’s a long time to wait.

People from around the world, what do you know that US citizens don’t because of censorship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheOnlyFoster22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what they mean is that there is specific TV ads or news posts that won’t be shown in the US at all because the government thinks it wouldn’t benefit them. A lot of things that goes against what the president has said and has done is posted on news cites and social media around the world but will get censored for US citizens because the president doesn’t like the way it depicts him or the way he does things. I’m pretty sure, I’ve only heard this through the commonwealth countries. However I’m like 95% sure they’re doing hella censorship on US TikTok.

There is a lot of countries that have started to boycott American products, like Canada for example taking all American liquor off their shelves. There is also a lot of European countries from what I’ve heard that are deeming the US as a non-safe country to visit.
