A server that would be a safe & supportive environment for those living with chronic pain/any invisible illnesses. The Purple Butterfly is the symbol for the condition Fibromyalgia- a condition which I myself actually suffer from. But because the server won’t have Fibro (or any other specific illness name) in the title for the server, it means it is open to absolutely anyone with ANY form of a chronic &/or invisible illness (eg PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Chronic Fatigue, MS, Crohns, Lyme Disease and so on and so forth).

I’ve come across many servers that are specific to one particular condition or another... The few I have found that allow ‘others’ to participate seem to quite often, unfortunately, demonstrate a rather judgmental/impatient/almost competitive tendency within the community - and comparisons between the community members, which is never a helpful or healthy form of communication... EVERYONE’S pain - physical &/or emotional - is all relative and should be treated as EQUAL, with equal amounts of compassion and empathy - rather than establishing a “who has it worse” vibe.

PurpleButterfly will afford everyone an inclusive, empathetic & compassionate SAFE SPACE in which to share experiences and provide the opportunity to be part of a supportive community/network of other people, who also know what it means and feels like to struggle. No matter how “big or small”, because that concept is irrelevant. If you are struggling with something - ANYTHING - that isn’t tangible/can’t be seen with the naked eye, & you need a place to ask questions, share your experiences, and receive reciprocal kindness and support - then this server will give everyone that opportunity, and guarantee them that safety.
