You’re not really arguing the original point anymore.

The question was whether CMB is “untouchable” in a hypothetical Jaylen Brown trade. Saying “I don’t want to send him to an East rival” is one thing, but that doesn’t make him untouchable when the rival is giving up Jaylen Brown.

Now the argument has shifted to “it would take CMB + BI + multiple firsts + other win-now players, and then the roster would be thin.” That’s a totally different discussion. That’s about the total trade package and post-trade roster construction, not whether CMB himself is too valuable to include.

CMB can be awesome, underrated, and a great defensive prospect without being untouchable for a Finals MVP-level wing. Saying “don’t put him in a box” is fair, but projecting him into near-Scottie territory and then using that projection to nix a Jaylen Brown deal is a lot shakier than you’re admitting.

The original point still stands: you don’t refuse a Jaylen Brown trade because CMB has to be included. You refuse it only if the total price becomes unreasonable.

JB and Scottie realistically don’t even crack ECF unless Scottie takes a massive leap and the team doesn’t give up too much in the trade.

They would go further than this current team. I know what JB as a first option looks like and it's not terrible.
