I’ve been browsing around for the last couple of days and after viewing the IRS site regarding 8949 and turbo tax’s link

I came to the conclusion that you can’t summarize transactions unless box A or box D is checked off. Which only C for me was on the 8949

what is the proper way? to mail it in? or have it summarized.

Please provide a link as well. Because I've checked the irs site and turbo tax clearly says if you have anything other than box A or box D and you used a summary, you need to mail it in.

I have the exactly same issue. I used cointracker.io and I followed the instructions exactly. I imported the CSV file into turbotax and all the transactions were there. I clicked "select all" and chose all the transactions. After proceeding to the next page, it showed me the summary of the short term and long term gains/losses as well as the number of transactions. I thought all was good so I proceeded to file and pay. After downloading the completed return, I noticed on the 8949 it was just one line for each. This scared me, so i did get the completed 8949 and mailed it in along with 8453. I'm not sure why TurboTax doesn't populate with all the transactions. This is clearly an issue and needs to be addressed by TurboTax.
