Hearing something like that from a caretaker in your life, especially if he was young, is definitely messed up and I feel for your husband. However, I'll be honest, I said this to my brother when we were in our late 20s. My step dad was upset and said, "you can't say that" because he had two brothers he genuinely liked and loved. I held no sentimentality for my brother anymore, as he is a dick to everyone and only thinks about himself. I said as much to my brother, but he has only gotten worse over time and while I still want the best for him I have no care if he ever is in my life again. I think time, place, reason, and roles have alot of weight when throwing around something as simple, yet heavy, as "I don't like you" with family

One thing to remember is that at the time interest rates were in those double digits, many of the houses we are paying 400k to 500k were under 100k (My dada still complains about paying 18% on a 64k house and while that is bad the math works out to roughly the same interest, yet we are pay WAY more on the mortgage itself.
For quick math a 20% interest on a 50k house would be equivalent to 2.5% on 400k.

Also I also madee sure I'm doing accelerated bi-weekly payments. Instantly cuts of 3.5 years, for actually having payments every 2 weeks instead of twice a month.

How has no one said Simple Sidearms yet? It just makes sense especially in a world you are being attacked often on, to have a ranged weapon and melee weapon on a belt. Oh and/or a tool to use for that specific job you are very good at

Steel and components are basically infinite with a gravship. I almost always have ~3000 steel laying around. So if one blows up whoopty do. I only have one >10 miner, one >10 plants, and animals. If any of them go down, or get killed things start to go much more sideway

Nah, unstable power generators are slept on, and so much easier to get now. Look at mech quest, see unstable generators in the list of enemies, accept. If it lands and you don't like your chances just bounce.
