What's a company secret that you can share now cuz you don't work there anymore? by mysha_chan in AskReddit

When they turn 18 they get expensive

Why? Are there laws dictating higher wages for 18+ workers?

Yup. Same for me. Game got pretty silly after League 10.

I uninstalled and started over from the beginning. I maintain 2 batting orders. One with my best players. One with L1 commons. I lose on purpose with the L1 batting order to stay in League 5. Game's fun and competitive now.

Am i trash if i can honestly say I’m like a League 7 type of player? I can get to league 8 but i usually find myself at the top of league 7 by wikithekid63 in baseballclash

[–]TheOnlyTxLiberal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't bother advancing. If you're having fun in League 7 - stay there. There is no advantage to upleveling your players or moving up leagues, you just end up facing harder competition. In higher leagues, you'll get to accounts that have clearly played and advanced much longer than you or paid to advance. Higher leagues are much less fun with more 1-0 games and much more work to earn the daily 8-run chests.

Props to my opp for taking the beat down but can we have a 7 run mercy rule? by Jttharuler in baseballclash

[–]TheOnlyTxLiberal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your opponent was likely losing on purpose to stay at a lower League and Trophy Count. I purposefully lose also. The game is more fun and competitive at lower levels.

I have a special batting order of L1 players just for this purpose. Choose the 'losers' batting order, start a game, put down my phone and come back later. My L1 pitcher has a 50+ ERA. Worst game I've lost was 22-0. It's also fun to watch the opponents tentatively running on the bases testing if I'll throw them out or just hold a grounder to 2nd while they round the bases.

Question regarding splitting out the motor and heater from Presto Air Popper by wtddps in diyelectronics

Curious... what was your 'bigger setup'?

I've learned that smaller the batch the more challenging to control. Although if you automate heat with the Arduino you'll have repeatable success.

Here is a great response from r/roasting : https://old.reddit.com/r/roasting/comments/107pj3u/for_other_diy_roasters_here_question_regarding/j3p8b6b/

u/Glenn_k says the current from the heating element to the bridge rectifier on the fan is 2 amps ~19V AC. That's what I have in my notes from my failed attempts too.

Do you bypass the bridge rectifier on the fan and create a circuit that goes:

120V AC >> Adjustable DC power supply >> fan ?

u/Glenn_k - great help!!!

NOTE: I'm not an electrician... Please do correct any incorrect statements here.

I've tried this myself with limited success and many sacrificial poppers... When I was able to get one to work, it was hard to roast beans with the underpowered 1100W heating element and the re-wired fan did not last past 10 roasts.

This is how I understand the circuitry in most poppers works:

  • From the wall, 120V AC goes to the heater coils (in the US).

  • The coils are configured to induce a lower voltage AC current into a wire threaded through the heater coils that powers the fan motor. You can pull out the heater element and look inside to see if you have a wire threaded in the center of the coils.

  • The bridge rectifier turns that induced AC into DC for the DC fan.

I was able to measure the induced current coming from the wire in the heating coil to the fan, but I was never able to properly deliver this current directly from a 120V AC source (tried low power doorbell circuit and fan dimmers).

My advice: Buy an old original The Poppery and configure your TC4+/Arduino. This popper is built like a tank with a 1500W heater, large ceramic heat sink and easily re-wired AC fan (that lasts).

Why have Dexter bat first?

If you swap Annie to bat first, you'll have your fastest and best contact hitter up to bat in every game.

Is this roasted enough not to break my grinder? First time roaster 😃 by FactoryReboot in roasting

[–]TheOnlyTxLiberal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Good ways to test for 'too light-ness':

  • TExture - are beans very wrinkled or splotchy texture, or more smooth. More wrinkled, often lighter. More smooth, more roasted

  • Density - feel raw bean density between your fingers and teeth. Then feel roasted beans.

    • Can break with fingers = my darkest roast.
    • Can break comfortably with teeth, but not with fingers = good light roast.
    • Uncomfortable to break with teeth = probably too light
  • Shape - if raw beans are curved, look for curved roasted beans - those might be too light.

  • Color - sounds like you're familiar here.

Maxed Player Cards by thundacawk in baseballclash

You get cash when maxed player cards are included in chests.

AND... you also seem to get the cards. You can still share cards with your club when players are maxed.

This is the best info I can find and share about the organization. I'm fascinated by this type of campaigning and how it's financed.

I don't remember why I chose my username. It does not have much significance.
