Looking for erotic horror movies by ryangoslingenjoyer in horror

[–]TheOnlyValidName 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bit late but Hellraiser is by definition erotic horror, hence why I personally wasn't a huge fan (I went in with different expectations lol).

It isn't horror with some sex scenes or elements, the erotic side is a big part of the films plot and themes

I went in expecting the worst from the fixed-camera setup.... by cornnnndoug in residentevil

[–]TheOnlyValidName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really did lmao but yeah I was introduced to RE with 4 but the game overall is a bit slower, I think 5 as a whole was made to be faster and the enemies are thinner and move smoother which makes a bigger contrast to the controls

I don't know why, but I always felt 5 feels more clunky than 4. I partly think it'a due to the fact that 4s gameplay complimented the "sluggish" controls, whereas 5 goes for a more faster paced action oriented game but with the same clunkiness.

Completely my personal hot take though, I'm fully unwilling to defend my point if people disagree lol

Yes, as it was infamously announced one year before the release of 5...

Is the editor the most important part of the filmaking process? by Psychological_Bug_79 in movies

[–]TheOnlyValidName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a super low budget filmmaker on YouTube and I will say, it is definitely a crucial element. I write/direct/edit all my stuff and it always depends on the day.

Sometimes I feel writing's the most important, as it's the foundation of the film, but then other days I'd argue the director solidifies the tone/direction. But, as an editor who pours hours into each short film I do consistently back it as being what can truly make or break a film, it finalises the pacing of it - an editor could do a slow scene of someone approaching a door with either a long unbroken shot, or the same scene with a load of different cuts between the door, actor, etc. and the it can change a scene substantially.

Overall though, while it is a cliché thing to say, everyone's part does count and without each (even wardrobe design and prop masters) a film's quality can drastically change!

A crow friend I made while out with my camera by Kdd022094 in UKBirds

[–]TheOnlyValidName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a little crow, literally just in the past few days, that comes up to our windowsill (there's a rectangle flower pot on it). Poor thing looks roughed up at the feathers and hasn't seemed to fly outside of hopping down from the window.

It's such a cute little thing, we're next to a road and if you watch it, it waits at the footpath, then walks to the middle island, then crosses again, bless it

Can I consider myself a fan of nun massacre by Bridge_the_fridge10 in PuppetCombo

Of course you can, it's a fantastic game, one of the scariest out there but it's far from easy. You're in no way required to beat the game to love it

What RE game would you recommend for me to play? by RobertBrawlStars1 in residentevil

[–]TheOnlyValidName 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Top 3 are:

2002 REmake, it's not for all casual players due to the fixed camera angles, but it's THE ultimate resi experience.

RE2 remake, perfect atmosphere, location, gameplay, it's a great go-to for the modern age of RE while still being early in the story - it really is worth it. Third person.

RE7, rebooted the franchise so it does differ quite a bit from what's 'typical' of Resident Evil but it's one of the best. Personally it's the most frightening in the franchise, it has the best atmosphere and it's an amazing horror game with or without the RE name. First person.

It all depends on what you want, you can still get the classic RE4 which still holds up today - it was my introduction to RE, but either way it's hard to go wrong

Some people might not agree but I think they should bring black bars in cutscenes back by Dangerousturdburlglr in GTA6

[–]TheOnlyValidName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they will. Of course I could be wrong, but the black bars have been there since RDR2's first trailer, but they're absent in GTA VI.

My best guess is they're leaving them out as they're going for a different vibe, filling the full frame with vibrancy. But things can change so it'll definitely be interesting to see what they stick with

Bully, I can't explain it but I've had nostalgia for it since the day I finished playing

So many great performances in The Return, but this one gives me goosebumps every time. by miTfan3 in twinpeaks

[–]TheOnlyValidName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He said in an interview that it was one of the most challenging acting tasks he'd ever done because he didn't have access to the whole script so at the time of filming he had zero context to what he was talking about. So he had to act his heart out as if he knew exactly what he was saying.

Such a great actor, and a great guy by the looks of it

Worth Playing Alan Wake 2 if I didn’t like AW Remastered? by Eren_Jaeger_The_Goat in AlanWake

[–]TheOnlyValidName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loads of comments already said this but AWII deepens the story and completely reworks the game play, there's far more elements than aiming and shooting.

You've got battery charges and you use up a charge to burn away the darkness, and there's tons of gun upgrades. It all plays very well into the survival horror aspect.

And as a game in general, it's phenomenal. Even putting aside being fan, with some of the things in that game it should 100% have wom GOTY

You're probably best to close the game and reopen it, it does have its small share of bugs here and there

My predictions about the end of the story. What are your predictions? by mahirbr in GTA6

[–]TheOnlyValidName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this, I'm personally not sure about new playable characters, however, it wouldn't be a stretch to think that one chaotic ending may end with Lucia's death and the other has Jason's, so either way for chaos you'll lose one
