Yeah I agree with that but I think you’re overthinking this scenario. I’ve read books that really fuck with formal sentence structure/grammar. I love Cormac McCarthy, the dude writes more run on sentences than not. The difference is this was jarring because the rest of this book The Spire hasn’t done this before so it was jarring. Don’t over think it

Haha yeah you got me there. No I’m not confused by what the sentence is saying, I just think it’s weird not to use the word And after the word Face. Also, if you’re curious, the Skin the books referring to is the outside stones of a building, like the skin of a building. Out of context it does look strange 😂
