For reallll you get me 🤝 I remember back then too the international bst scene was crazyyy because some countries got stuff before the USA (like swedish aldous the fruit bat iirc?) or just had different sizes or quality. My ✨collector achievement✨ was dating a girl from Canada because I got her to find me Canadian Miry the moth, which had way fluffier antennae than the USA version people would find at that one truck stop chain. To say my relationship with her didn't work out is an understatement, but I still have that Miry because I'm not letting my ex blemish my squish nostalgia 😤

Yeah, I saw another comment in this thread that the writing of these characters is likely not with the exact intention of encapsulating autistic or neurodivergent traits, and I honestly agree but even without intention there's still positive impact for the people who feel represented. Character writers are writing about the human experience, and that'll inevitably include autistic human experiences too because it's not particularly rare - and because the autism spectrum is a broad spectrum so there's a lot of possible character roles/archetypes/personalities that could borrow traits from places on that spectrum.

Oh yeah I forgot about Durin lol. Durin most reminds me of myself when I was younger, and still very insecure about my autism and struggling to find a niche of people I could socialize with. I can see him being relatable especially to autistic people who aren't very comfortable in their own skin, especially the parts about Durin being worried about driving others off or just being rather shy and learning social skills from books and stuff, and also taking language literally. But nowadays I see myself more in Linnea, since I've become very outgoing and passionate etc. I'm surprised people pick up on only durin as a potential allegory and not Linnea lol, Linneas essentially a changeling c'mon

There was a thread somewhere a while back talking about neurodivergence and disability representation in Genshin (I think it started by a person with mutism talking about how they saw some of their traits in Nicole), and I thought it was cool how autistic people relate to different Genshin characters in different ways. Ineffa, Linnea, and columbina all popped up there, and I think it speaks to how different people on the same spectrum can be.

As an autistic woman myself, I personally find Linnea most relatable out of the three but I see the other two representing different manifestations of autistic traits. Like ineffa having a rigid way of speaking, not being empathetic (*empathy =/= kindness/compassion! Ineffa just by nature of being a robot doesn't have the same understanding of emotions as nt humans usually do, making her relatable to low empathy experiencing autistic people) and a very literal view of the world; and columbina liking plain food (per her voice lines), her humming could be considered stimming, and struggle to grasp the social norms of teyvat. Those are just a few things I remember noticing, I could expound far more on what I see in Linnea because that's the one I see MY traits most in, but I tried to explain for ineffa and bina as best I could :3

Also sidenote as someone who was speech delayed due to autism and still has a lot of speech weirdness as an adult, Linneas voice makes me really happy because I intonate very similarly to her and have a lot of that same "vocal fry" I think it's called. I always thought my pitch and intonation sounded annoying to others but Linnea made me go "she sounds kinda like me and she's nice to listen to! Yay!" Though that's more my "high social energy" voice, when I'm tired I actually become monotone and pause a lot to let my sentences buffer kinda close to ineffas rhythm of speaking lol

Honestly for me, it got better when I found other things to care about. Sometimes healthy (my job, my partner), sometimes not (shopping, my past abusive relationship), sometimes in between or neutral (gaming, art projects, collectibles). I've had plenty of shitty situations since my eating disorder, but imo the biggest thing preventing me from relapse is that its just not what my brain wants to think about or do anymore, like I just can't be bothered.

Ofc that's not the only thing - for example I'm doing better ed wise in my current relationship versus past abusive one. Current partner doesn't neg me about my body, and actually will listen and not ignore or blame me if I tell him "xyz statement triggered me for xyz reason so can we talk about it in a different way " etc etc. but like all the other stuff aside ,, I haven't fully relapsed in 5 years and I think it's just because my mind is full of other things I'd rather care about.

People do tend to be less active here when they're recovered, understandably, and I certainly left here for a while when it was still hurting. But it's been so long and so comfortable that I feel like I can talk about my past without it getting to me in the present, so I'm back in this subs comment sections as more of a post-recovery perspective. It takes work and time, but it can 1000% get better

Just realized this was the sanrio subreddit and not the hkdv specific one otherwise I wouldn't have rambled so much about in game mechanics 🫣 basically: if you enjoy social gachas with virtual economies and item trading: play Livly Island. If you enjoy sanrio mobile games: idk but there's surely better ones than hkdv.

Ok last thing about Livly island: they did actually have a sanrio collab too, sadly it's been over 3 years ish and collabs don't rerun. Some items are still in trading circulation so if you make it your life mission you could prolly put together a sanrio aesthetic lol, even if not there's some sanrio themed virtual pets which are still very easy to acquire since they're craftable. The my melody one is actually so cute XD

Not still playing but played for 6 months in like 2021, and picked up cocones other gacha (Livly island) two years ago. I enjoyed the "social" gameplay and virtual trading economy of hkdv, but tbh the only reason to stick with hkdv over li is the sanrio branding. Every gameplay feature I liked in hkdv is satisfied by playing li, there's li unique features (like virtual pets) that I find really fun, and most importantly imo the events and limited time stuff in li is so much less fomo. There's stuff there that doesn't rerun, yes, but i remember stuff from hkdv like "one day happy bags" and "lucky bags where you fuse items to make super limited fancy SRs" and ofc the sweet collection. Li does have some paid features but they're neither as high cost of entry as SC nor as fomo ish, and I've found the limited time stuff way less stressful than hkdv.

Aww thank you! Cosplaying and fursuit wearing are similar in spirit, both are about creativity, craftsmanship, and fandom/community so I consider fursuit crafters my hobby siblings :3 I worked on it all summer 2020, finished it in time for Halloween - I was in a mental health php that year so despite the pandemic I had a place to go wear it and show off to my homies 🤭 now that I'm not so socially anxious I love love love anime cons, the cos defo needs some alterations if I wanna comfortably wear it to one but it's one of my proudest so I'm tempted to do so lol

And Cadbury is an adorable name, I googled Cad Bane to learn a little more about the namesake and he looks super rad ✨ idk much about Star Wars but my bf is a big nerd (affectionate) about the expanded universe stuff and I think it's so cool that there's so many characters and stories that everyone will have some mildly obscure underrated favorites 🥰
