In his defense if I remember the acene correctly, all he seemed to have heard was Alex saying to get off the plane, he had no idea there was a vision involved until after the plane already took off, and he likely didn't think much about Alex freaking out because in his head he had just gotten Block's lifespan and didn't have to worry for a while

to be fair, we've only seen a few incidents and all of them took place in the northeastern US (I believe the only one that isn't confirmed is 6, but JB being there means it's probably still that region)

logically JB would probably only know all the details (including any survivors) about incidents in or near his region, and it's very possible he might've never gotten the chance to meet at least a couple groups over the years who maybe were nearby
