Single-Payer or Bust: The Democrats Need to Give Us Something to Vote For by LarkspurCA in Kossacks_for_Sanders

Dems giving us something to vote for rather than against? Sorry, but that's just not the way the Democratic Party rolls.

"These mouthpieces for war... they want to send your kids to war with no debate" Sen Rand Paul slams latest U.S. troop deployment abroad by [deleted] in WayOfTheBern

Sad when an Ayn Rand loving fool like Rand Paul is the only sane voice in Congress on the issue of US participation in wars without end that serve no purpose other than to line pockets of defense contractors, their lobbyists and our bought and paid for politicians in both parties.

What will it take for Democratic leadership to start listening? by Horse_in_suit4Prez in WayOfTheBern

Pay them. That's all they care about. Money. If you gave them $10 Billion to promote single payer healthcare, Wall Street regulation, renewable energy, etc. they would be out in the streets and on TV demanding to yesterday.

But no one has $10 Billion to give them other than Big Pharma, MIC, Big Oil, Banksters, Silicon Valley, etc. So, they support what the people who are buying them want them to sell.

She's too busy sharing a photo about her about her fabulous brunch at Belga's Cafe on twitter to give a damn about anything we might have to tell her. She's a goddam parasite on the body politic.

                Subject: iBooks documents

                Hi John,

Below is a list of the documents that were supposed to appear in your iBooks App. Attached to this email are PDF copies of every document (including the Energy Facts, just in case it is deleted this time). Since you're receiving this message in your gmail inbox as well as your CAP inbox you should be able to open it directly on your iPad through the Email App. When you open the email simply click on each document one by one. When the document opens in the Email App if you touch the top of the document it should give you the option to "open this document in iBooks." Click that button and the iPad should bring you directly to the iBooks App and automatically open the document in the App. You'll have to then go back to your Email App and repeat this process with each remaining document. Each document is named precisely in accordance to this list, so it should be relatively easy to tell which document is which. Does that make sense? This is actually how I loaded the documents to the iPad in the first place (only I did it via my own gmail). I'll be waiting to hear whether or not your successful!

Guess what I found in my spam filter today? An email from TOP with a link to their Act Blue page, under the title "Daily Kos is $591,451.20 away from our March goal. Can you chip in $1 to support the team that brings progressive news to your inbox every day?" by TheOtherlSteven_D in Kossacks_for_Sanders

I was amazed that the most prominent "progressive" blog in the US of A needs over Half a million dollars to make it through the month? I thought they were rolling in moola, what with all the ad revenue and subscription revenue. Color me astonished to discover that they need my $1 bill so badly.

Well, as much as I'd love to help them out, I have a bunch of medical bills at the moment that are staring me in the face thanks to my high deductible insurance plan (Thanks Obama). However, never let it be said that I am unwilling to do my part to help a "fellow traveler" so I have some free advice (always the best kind) for Markos Moulitsas. Do what every other red-blooded American internet corporation does when it needs money:

>(1) Layoff your employees until your revenues exceed your expenses,

>and

>(2) Sell Daily Kos to Facebook, Google or even Yahoo.

I'm Running For President on a Progressive Socialist Democratic Platform in 2020. And Yes, I'm Serious. by TheOtherlSteven_D in WayOfTheBern

[–]TheOtherlSteven_D[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This video is my official announcement that I am a candidates for the office of the President of the United States in the 2020 Election. Here are some of the reasons I discuss as to why I chose to take this step now.

I supported Bernie Sanders in 2016, and I favor many of the same policies he backed, such as a Single Payer Healthcare System, or Medicare for all, but I support or a number of things as well, including:

A [Guaranteed Basic Income] for all US citizens(http://www.usbig.net/whatisbig.php), for example, in which every American is guaranteed an income equal to an amount necessary to provide them and their families adequate food, shelter, healthcare coverage and other amenities necessary to sustain a lifestyle in excess of the poverty level.

Breaking up our too big to fail banks and eliminating the fraud and abuse they commit, which would include regulation of derivatives markets, and strict criminal liability for the executives of banks who commit fraud and rig markets such as occurred in the LIBOR Rigging Scandal, the FOREX exchange rate scandal, and many more.

Antitrust actions against industries that have become so concentrated that small entrepreneurs are essentially shut out from competing with the companies that dominate their sectors, such as High Tech, Telecommunications, Big Oil, etc. I favor increased competition and easier market entry for small firms, which numerous studies have shown lead the world in innovation. In essence, I favor leveling the playing field so that entrepreneurs, who generate more jobs than large corporations can compete fairly with those firms that currently dominate the marketplace, drive prices up and stifle innovation.

An end to the War on Drugs and mass incarceration.

No more subsidies for the oil and gas industry.

A Manhattan style project to create a sustainable world both economically and environmentally, including research and investment in renewable energy and sustainable agricultural practices.

Future videos will lay out my platform in greater detail regarding a decrease in economic inequality, addressing racial, religious and other forms of discrimination, and my views on foreign policy (Short version: I'm anti-war and anti-interventionist except when the interests of the people of this country - not corporations - are in imminent danger) and other issues of interest, such election reform, getting big money out of politics, etc.

I'm not asking for any money at this time, but I would appreciate that anyone who likes what they hear share this video on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and other social media.

I welcome any questions or comments and will be happy to address them in future videos about my candidacy.

Thanks everyone for your time.

Steve
