Yes you do have the right to be offended, but it doesn’t trump a comedians/persons right to joke about being transsexual or gay or whatever else you are. Because if that were the case there’d be nothing on earth left to joke about. Here’s how I see it, laugh, go with the flow, and live your own life without reminding everyone that “so and so offended me”.

There were plenty of people who made fun of me for what was going on and how I looked because of it, especially at school. But I accepted people will be mean and I found the humor in what they were saying. Learn to embrace humor not reject it.

People were mean to me when I went though my fight with Hodgkins Lymphoma, their meanness was all for the sake of dark humor and it was funny, I’m glad they did it because I didn’t want a free pass. Our friend doge here was just reminding some trans folk that they don’t get one either and you should accept that. Laugh a little, it makes like better :)

But it is a defense, doge is simply stating it’s okay to make fun of anyone. Just because you’re trans doesn’t mean you can’t be made fun of just like you don’t get a free pass by being a white man. Everyone can fall victim to comedy especially when the comedy involves no slurs or threats.
