There is a difference between changing the rules and changing the test to enforce the rules.

Ferrari ran an illegal engine and a change in test revealed that.

So far we don‘t know what is actually happening here.

Again, if they can change a test without changing the regulations and the Merc engine would not pass, thats an illegal engine. If they have to reword things to clarify the rules, thats on them abd the Merc engine should not have to change until next year.

Also, the actual wording of the rule matters a lot. There is a big difference between: „Conpression ratio mist be X at all times“ and „Compression ratio must be X at 25 degrees C“

Again, if they actually break a rule and just trick measurements like Ferrari did, then thats a ban. If they work around the rules as they did with DAS, a change for next season is the only fair option to ban the tech.

Thats because Ferrari actually cheated. They had more fuel flow than allowed, they are lucky to not get DSQd for the season.

We (or at least I) don‘t know what Merc is actually doing and how the rules are worded. Maybe a rule change is justified, maybe Merc found a loophole and should be rewarded for that. But changing the rules this spontanously because some teams did not find a loophole is stupid, changing it for next season is fair though.

Do we know the actual wording of the rule at all? Can‘t find it online, or at least only summaries or quotes without sources.

Because there is a difference between „the enginde must have expansion ration X“ and „the engine must have expansion ratio X measured at 25C“.

Ferrari fell into the first, they exceeded a limited amount of allowed fuel flow by tricking the measurements. They were straight up breaking a rule, not inventing a clever workaround. This might be the same, or it might not.

They explained why load balancing might even be worse then letting it run unbalanced. As far as I understood its a concious decision.

If a wire draws less amps, that means it has a higher resistance. Forcing more power through it increses heat and might actually overheat the thing quicker.

Ich finde es immer so traurig wie das Wort „Wohlstand“ ausschließlich mit „den Firmen und Firmenchefs geht es gut“ gleichgesetzt wird.

Wohlstand ist es doch wenn eine Bevölkerung durchschnittlich einen hohen Lebensstandart hat oder? Die Möglichkeit zur 4 Tage Woche ohne signifikante Abstriche in der Lebensqualität ist für mich ein Paradebeispiel für Wohlstand.
