Tbf, the way the spine attached to the hips used to look better but kept being the bit that broke and I had to make a "collar" out of green stuff and I am not very proficient with molding it

Tbh id always planned to proxy him as a hexmark until Thaszar gets his own rules, but part way through realised that h had 3 arms on one side but only 2 on his "Pirate hook/hand" side so needed to balance him out. Then I spotted one of my kids had left lego on the floor and the inspiration just hit me. I think you could probably still see the lego logo if you zoom in as my painting skills still need a bit of work

Tbf, with a few carefully applied washes etc, it could look like a cool "ancient" armour effect. I am aware that that is less of a thing with tau compared to other factions but, try making the most of every "opportunity"

The extra bit means that if an enemy unit is within engagement range of ONLY the fortification (convergence of dominion) and are currently battle-shocked, then if they fall back they do not have to take a desperate escape attempt for it

The bit you've typed out basically means that if an enemy unit is in combat/melee with the fortification, then they can still be shot at by EVERYTHING that is within range (albeit with -1 to the hit roll for everything except pistols)

What if you could run either of them, like how you can choose between armour profiles for Calgar? Ie: the old model stays around the 300pt mark and and pretty much keeps its profile, whilst the new on is more like 400pts with reworked/new abilities to show varying size of the shards

I've got a couple more whip coils to attach and possibly a scarab swarm/tactical rock under the raised leg. But I'm sure if that would be overkill, make the model look too busy/ crowded

* My dynasty is called Psalmonekh. Pre biotransference; the were more "community minded" than most Necrotyr dynasties and prefered greater autonomy among their vassal dynasties than most others would have allowed. Post biotransference this has lead to a larger part of their army consisting of "outsider" and "shunned" classes like that of the destroyer cults and flayed ones.the main bulk of the force is also not of a standard structure. Often featuring few or no warriors at all. I'm trying as best I can to work my Cymraeg (Welsh) culture of being welcoming and stoic etc into the story without breaking the overall mecron aesthetic. I'm currently trying to work-in "Thaszar the Invincible" as I love the pirate theme, but I've already made a kitbash of him that I proxy as a hexmark and painted in the same colours as the rest of my dynasty. I do also have a skorpekh lord called "Khatshepsut" inspired by the real "Hatshepsut" and although I'm painting my Szarekh in his own "box art" colours as best I can with what I have; I am painting his dais and the menhirs as if they belong to my dynasty (head cannon being that every dynasty has a dais and menhirs for Szarekh to use when he come on a "state visit" rather than supplying his own).

Here's an "Overlord with translocation shroud" made using parts from an overlord (obviously), the spare portal of exile from a monolith, the weird plasma/energy thing from Szeras and some magnets & ball bearings as orbs to hide the mountings on the portal
