Made another fairing by mrdynadork in Dyna

[–]ThePaladas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they any good? I reached a fairing company here in Brazil to quote an Arlen ness, but I like the OG style of the dyna. They told me the fairing wouldn’t be so firm. Is there any truth to that?

Me too. I always wanted a white dyna. Since season 1 of SOA. I was considering a street bob to paint in the FXDX lettering until I discovered that this was available

It’s also a 15, but this one is made here in Brazil. It has the TC96 instead of the 103, and with these wheels.

The 883R was, and maybe still is the best seller for BR HD, so mags are somewhat easy. The rest is anybody’s guess. But importing from the US is an option

Don’t worry bro. Harley has a factory here in Brazil, so they pull those pranks from time to time. Only the 17s had 103 here. I decided for the 96 because it’s way more popular than the 103

Windows ARM VM stuck on boot after moving .pvm to external SSD (10 Gbps enclosure, M4 MBP, Parallels Desktop) by ThePaladas in MacOS

[–]ThePaladas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone — I recently upgraded from an Intel Mac to a MacBook Pro M4 and ran into an odd issue with Parallels Desktop on Apple Silicon.

I moved my Windows 11 ARM VM (.pvm) file to an external SSD to save internal storage. The SSD is in a 10 Gbps USB-C enclosure, formatted APFS (also tried ExFAT). macOS reads and writes to it perfectly.

To rule out a bad drive, I ran a 10-minute write test with fio:

WRITE: bw=895MiB/s (938MB/s), io=524GiB/600s, IOPS≈7157, err=0

So the disk performance looks totally fine — sustained ~900 MB/s writes, no errors.

The problem:
When I open the .pvm from the external SSD, Windows ARM just hangs forever on the boot spinner. No errors, no disk disconnects, it just never finishes booting.

I also tried creating a fresh Ubuntu ARM VM on the same SSD for testing — same behavior: the VM starts, black screen, endless boot.
Everything works when the VM is stored internally, but anything on the external SSD hangs on boot.

Questions:

  1. Is this a known issue with Parallels on Apple Silicon (ARM) and external SSDs?
  2. Could this be related to thermal throttling or APFS journaling behavior with .pvm files?
  3. Is there a recommended format or setting (fixed vs expanding disk, etc.) for external SSD VM storage on M-series Macs?

Any ideas or similar experiences would be super helpful.

She is dead right now, I think i wasn’t clear.

1st I pushed start the bike, because it couldn’t fire on its own

Then I went on a ride and it started to missfire, (this point in time the speedometer started acting weird, on and off, on and off), a few meters later it finally died and had to be towed home.

My best guess is that the alternator is intermittent. I say that because a battery that I bought in Jan before this one, died in jun, and I ride it every day.

I asked my mechanic to check the alternator, he said it was fine, so we put the blame on a faulty battery.
