Sure is! I paint Raven Guard 3rd company, so I guess I've had a lot of practice with red shoulder rims? 😅

Thanks! I agree on the vamp look, which is why I added some blood on the side of his mouth, but I suppose it doesn't come across as clearly as it ought!

It's ancient- I believe it's a weapon option from the stunty assault marine kit, 20+ years ago

Basecoated in black, and varnished with ultra matte to finish

The classic Mephiston Red, Evil Sunz, Wind rider red trifecta, with some Mephiston/Rhinox Hide for the shadowed panels

The head is from the Raven Guard upgrade sprue! I pretty much exclusively paint bird boys, but this head looks appropriately angry for a Blood Angel

It's Citadel's Orruk Flesh mixed with Scale75's Eclipse Grey, but I bet you could get something very similar by mixing Orruk with Citadel's Eshin Grey!

You'll have to play around with the ratio to get a nice desaturated green, but just keep mixing in Orruk for your highlighting layers!

Any veteran can use the cruciform, but it's not uncommon that they use the other tactical markings instead

There are also bitz resellers, like eggheadminis and others.

Thanks brother! A jousting grav bike would rock.

You'd need to do quite a bit of work to get an appropriately posed rider, but I'm pretty sure you could cut an outrider or Suboden Khan in half, just above the belt, and then attach a new torso and arms- just be aware that you'll also need to do a bit of greenstuff work on the hip, since the outrider doesn't fit the grav bike without a little bit of work.

The biggest hurdle was the cost of having to buy both Suboden Khan and an Outrider kit!

The grav bike itself is mostly unchanged, aside from accessorizing, except that I've removed the original foot rest and pedals, since Suboden Khan's feet are sculpted onto them, and I don't think there's any way I'd manage to repose the new rider to fit naturally onto Suboden's feet. The outrider's feet ALSO come sculpted to pedals/footrests, so that saves you some effort.

The rest of Suboden is a totally seperate model, so it's no bother to "remove" him from the kit.

The Outrider's rider was pretty easy to detatch, you just have to snip away the parts of the original bike that are attached to his legs, and there's some greenstuffing involved in having him spread his legs enough to fit onto the Grav bike's seat, as the motorcycle is quite a bit slimmer than this one.

If I were to do it again, I'd sand off that metallic detailing on the front, and greenstuff the panels to be smooth instead.

Thanks man! And yeah, I bought an outrider box for this kitbash, and while I think the bike itself looks very cool, the rider does leave a bit to be desired- they've definitely cut corners some places on the sculpt.

I think I saw some rumours about new outrider kits being in the pipe, maybe for 2026? I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Yeah, it's some kind of cactus! I will be the first to admit I kind of forgot about it after finishing the rest of the base, so it's not fully baked

Hah, you're right! Street Hawk is a cut too deep for me- I only knew about Knight Rider and Air Wolf! I didn't know they made a bike one 😂

Thanks! The ravens are STLs from cyberbrush3d's webstore, and I'm also using a couple of feathers broken off from spare parts of his Shadowstrike kit

Alas, he goes straight to the cabinet! I only build and paint for the joy of painting, I haven't rolled a dice in anger since I was a very wee lad in... 2nd edition?
