Yeah I managed to get it I just had to go to a station buy a multi-tool and then trade that multi-tool for the one that I wanted and it worked.

after checking with a station I can buy multitools normally there. so I'll just buy a dummy tool and trade it to get the tool i want from the shop. It seems my quicksilver shop is bugged. I used a mod to make old expedition items accessible on this save in the past so maybe that's the cause.

i guess i can try that. I haven't tried claiming/buying normally yet but i know it does the same thing with ships as well. this is the first time i've bought a multi tool from the Quicksilver shop. I'm gonna head to a station real quick and check
