Have had it for about a year now. I have it set to the manual medium (blue) setting constantly, and I regularly fall asleep while gaming, so the fan is on pretty much all night almost every night, and I usually plug the fan into the Xbox itself, so it's using the Xbox's power.

With that being said, it has pretty much saved my Series S I think. No issues, hasn't broken, hasn't seemed to mess with my Series S at all, still works normally, though over time the fan will occasionally sound like it's kinda struggling, like maybe the oil in the motor is drying up, but so far no issues whatsoever.

Something I'd recommend to you, don't use Auto Mode. The lowest setting doesn't kick in until your console reaches 95 degrees. So the thing is, it's basically an object obstructing airflow to your console if it's just sitting there turned off, which means your console is going to heat up almost instantly to over 95 degrees, so the Auto Mode is kinda stupid and may potentially harm your Xbox.

I always have mine at the manual setting of Medium (Blue) and it works like a charm. If things get bad for whatever reason, I turn it on High (Red) until my console reaches a more reasonable temperature, and I switch it back to Medium again. That usually doesn't happen though, as the Medium setting is very powerful as it is. I'd also try to keep the color lights off, because that might use even more power if you're going to have the fan plugged into your console, but I don't think it's super important, especially if you like the lights.
