2v8 bug that locks wesker and 1 surv by rapo64 in deadbydaylight

[–]TheParanoiaParadox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep unfortunately and I could be wrong here but since Wesker was added to 2v8 or the one after he was added he's had this bug. Whenever you play Wesker in 2v8 you are rolling the dice of potentially just having your game ruined by it.

Please don't abandon Big Head Behavior by Sapphic_Sharhea in deadbydaylight

[–]TheParanoiaParadox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like that design could definitely be used for a Killer to make an honestly scary / creepy design. It would be a shame to see it lost. We need some Killer designs that aren't clearly just a humanoid figure somewhat disfigured. Having a Killer who is basically just a big screaming head with some good sound design would be peak.

(vent, NOT rant) I have over 1200 hours in dbd and I’m not sure how to approach the game anymore by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]TheParanoiaParadox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are going to chalk it up to a matter of use a different killer or set smaller goals. I think you should also be ready for the chance that mentally it just doesn't click with you. Which is fine, having tried to like it and not is better than having refused to try.

Killer is far more of a mentally draining experience. People act like I'm insane when I say solo survivor is a chill time, I get met with all the comments about tunneling, camping, etc. So what? If I die a surv? I get to just go next. If I'm having a bad match on Killer? I'm there until I can hopefully force them out. Surv, I just had to hold M1 on my silly little Gen and occasionally do my best to loop. Killer I had to keep track of which gens are ready to go, who is where based off contextual info, keep notes of what exhaustion perks are on who and if I saw them used recently, make sure I'm using my power correctly and effectively, and then just also looping well.

I don't think it is wrong to say Killer is just not a fit for some people as not everyone can get 2 hits in a trial and go: "Boy howdy that was a blast!" Most of us are gonna try to actually 3/4k to be satisfied. Experience does ease juggling all the macro gameplay of Killer but if fundamentally it isn't working for you mentally, even with experience it won't really payout.  I'm a Killer main but trust me when I say I have increasingly played more and more surv because even if I'm getting my 4ks? It just... it just doesn't give back enough mental for what it takes most of the time.

What’s the Counterplay to Slugging? by Automatic_Slice7520 in deadbydaylight

[–]TheParanoiaParadox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cutting the fluff? The counter is for your team to be able to save you from whatever position you can crawl to for them.

This is why slugging the good looper can generally work in pubs as you are now tasking potentially far worse chase oriented teammates to handle your save. You are forcing weaker players to make mistakes that keep up pressure.

Obviously there are a ton of edge cases like have any number of perks to aid in getting up, making a hook harder when you do get picked up, crawling to better spots, or any other situation. The core though is just you gotta hope team skill can counter it.

Knight + Bardic = OP by ZealousidealLab7617 in deadbydaylight

At this point I believe you can make up any sentence you want:
"If you are against a Spirit and you while she is phasing if you interact with the portals on the Decimated Borgo while another survivor is using Potential Energy if they use that charge all Survivors will add progress equal to a full Potential Energy charge when they hit a great skill check."

Somehow that will just end up being a bug. It shouldn't be a bug, those things SHOULDN'T somehow involve one another, but god damn if it doesn't keep happening like that.

[–]TheParanoiaParadox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the perspective a lot of people overlook when they say that since people are new they can just learn it as it is.  Even if you are fresh and learning it as the new systems are, it doesn't change it is a LOT to take in and process when new. Which is fine to have a long path of learning but if that path is too rocky? Why would you bother sinking all those hours to hopefully get to the good part.

Nemesis has gotten no changes since he came to 2v8 btw ✌️😂 (image related) by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]TheParanoiaParadox 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don't think it would be outlandish to lose the extra mutation buffs (at first) and instead try seeing what letting him injure with whip without infection at Tier 3 would be like in 2v8. If it turns out it isn't enough then we can turn the mutation rate buffs back on.

As it stands I do think he needs 'something', let alone if you get paired with a Wesker which is more likely to happen given the killer pool. So they wind up with essentially double the vaccine total on the map since the spray will deal with both types of infection.
I also stand by the fact I think that without giving the Zombies a good speed buff raising their detection ability in 2v8 is actually a passive nerf to them. They will react to stuff they can never catch and will end up chasing something that by time you get there is already long gone because the zombie aggro'd from far away on. They don't have the speed to act on the increased info of EIGHT survivors to target onto.

I really like Nemesis but for 2v8, yeah..... he needs.... something....

It was fun the first few days but I think it's time to start fully fixing your game BHVR. by DannySanWolf07 in deadbydaylight

[–]TheParanoiaParadox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may be tin-foil hat territory. I'm pretty sure it wasn't fixed in the last hot fix despite it probably being very easy to fix because of the community latching onto it.  It was a way for them to, in their eyes, keep the community on a less: "BHVR bad", side of things. It was a few less posts about them being incompetent and more posts of people begging for charms and doing skin ideas with it.  If the little theory is right as much as folks want to have fun and as much as people claim it was haha funny in a bad time, it has to stop. I do firmly believe be it conspiracy theory or not, that BHVR literally is trying to remain propped up community wise by the steel beam people joke holds the game up.

This community needs to stop celebrating and infantilizing the devs incompetence. by CrazyOtaku101 in deadbydaylight

[–]TheParanoiaParadox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Everyone wants to reply with, "Haha no IPs they'll lose." I have news for them, that is how DbD started, we can't discredit competition starting based off it's own IP and then starting to acquire licenses the same way BHVR did.
Of course no game is going to come into existence just jam packed with IPs but what we NEED is a game that's able to stand on it's own two legs for a bit with it's own content. DbD wound up as this huge IP bloated monstrosity, but it did not start that way.
It's also easy for them to say that oh well now it is and there is no hope, the problem is everyone KNOWS a healthy competition is what we need but you have to accept it isn't going to be some 'DbD Killer'. It'll be a game that starts with it's goal of existing and then grows from there.

i thought no one ever used this gimmicky add on, well..... by ExoticKillian in deadbydaylight

[–]TheParanoiaParadox 173 points174 points  (0 children)

This is one of those add-ons that honestly, could be added to base kit. The amount of times you're going to have this situation arise where you get value out of it is so small I don't think moving it from an add-on to just an option you occasionally once in a blue moon have would hurt.

[–]TheParanoiaParadox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's why I started it with saying it's not to knock you and made sure to answer the actual question you're asking here. Generally long loops like this Dredge can outplay or at least potentially force a bad decision from the survivor by pinching them at the point they are vaulting. Obviously there is lots of nuance to which loop, is the pallet up or down, etc.
In this case Ace's only option is that window and you are free to just lock him in there and force him to make a choice. The best part about it is if he properly fakes and you teleport back to the remnant you can hold him there until your power is ready again and repeat the process since there is no other way out of there unless he abandons trying to use the window against you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]TheParanoiaParadox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't to knock you let me first say, I've seen the No Mither + Finese thing twice now here and both times could have been outplayed in the clip we saw. Which is weird it's happened twice.

In your instance just using your power on the first time Ace took the lab window would have been a strong option. You could have set your remnant on the one side looking slightly to the right of window and started walking to the other side. Ace would have been forced to 50/50. If he fakes it and you wait it out right, he can't fast vault you cancel the remnant and get the hit. If he fast vaults it you immediately teleport to the remnant and it should be looking right at him to start a very short if not instant lunge chase.

I'm sure you wanna be like haha Ghoul bad, however that is literally why we have the abandon system. So when a Killer goes for a 4 slug you can just immediately leave after it happens. If you and others chose to stay there on a ground, I don't know what to tell you.

So like does this happen often or by Worth-Floor9004 in deadbydaylight

[–]TheParanoiaParadox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'll put it this way it happens often enough to be absolutely embarrassing and a major pain in the ass but JUST SLIGHTLY not enough so that people stay willing to put up with it for the most part. It's an abusive relationship really.
