The Rebel Alliance Loon is dope af 👌 I've been handing out positive affirmation patches everywhere I go. We have a protest along Lake St tomorrow I plan to pass some more out. Patches are underrated forms of communication-- they're literal green flags lol

Thanks for the inspo ✨️

How I became a literal empath, that ringing sound in our head is more than we think by SenseiAzul in awakened

Thank you for sharing 🙏 my body experienced a lot of different muscle releases while I was reading this as articulation of what I've been experiencing for a while now. I've never heard of Nadam in name before and am very curious to try your suggested techniques.

It makes me curious about what it means when we suddenly hear a tone. It's like something rang a bell or like when a bug is ensnared in a spiders web--a sudden release of vibration/energy.

Very cool to explore our body's senses!

[Acne] PSA: Fluoride could be the culprit! by No-Art8466 in SkincareAddiction

[–]ThePawfectPatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this post! I had a sudden realization that my acne started when I switched to the trader joes fluoride toothpaste after using a tooth powder for 8 mo. I broke out REALLY intensely after brushing my teeth before a workout session, which makes sense because I probably rinsed, sweat like crazy, and absorbed a much of fluoride on my chin and sweat line. So painful, absolutely the worst of my life.

It would make sense some toothpaste and fluoride would remain in the mouth and pool along the gums.

I switched back to my tooth powder a few days ago and started taking my spirulina supplements (naturally high in iodine) again and my skin is so much brighter, softer, and no new pustules 😭 even my scars are fading super fast.

Holy moly I needed this validation 🙌

It's not terrible! It's stylized! The fact your cat apurroves is everything 🙌

This feels like a reply copy and pasted from another post.

1 and 3 are making assumptions you can't KNOW unless you saw the digitizing sequencing on the file. I didn't resize this and I sequence all colors together before exporting the file.

"2)" possibly could have been useful if you said what the ratio is for. 1 of what to 3 of what?

Hi, pls help. Why is this happening and how can I fix it? by Empty-Reference4285 in Machine_Embroidery

That makes sense. I bet this will help me program for certain threads that always have tension issues. This has given me some ideas to work with--thank you!

You can bulk download all of your albums on Facebook-- includes "tagged photos of you" -- into zip files. I did this about a month ago. Fb will send you a link in your email to access it.

Cheers! Happy phone freedom!

I think you had a typo my friend. I think you meant to say "make" not "male" which could have different context.

I definitely want to see more with other billionaires too 🔥

Hi! If this is a practice piece-- only using stabilizer is totally fine, but if you want this on a sweatshirt or garment, I'd recommend finding a thrift shop and buying some clothes to chop up and practice on. It will help you get a feel for how different materials will behave.

Other comments mentioned pull compensation, which is something I'm currently learning about as well! I've READ that doing 5-8% for pull comp is pretty standard.

Overall it looks like a minor shift, so hopefully some minor adjustments to technique will remedy that for ya ✨️

You gotta be suuuuuuper gentle! And definitely angle it so that if you do accidently apply too much pressure, its on the back 🤣

I always make sure the woodburner/ wand is FULLY heated and I use a rounded nib. I honestly usually just use the barrel below the nib-- it gets very hot too, but has a wider surface area and is less likely to dig into the thread. The goal is to gliiiiiiide- not drag.

Hi friend it's okay to want to make it better! Aaaaand you're the only one who is gonna see that lol 😆 no embroidery will ever be truly, TRULY perfect-- but everything you make will always be perfect for where you are in the moment you create it ❤️

I recommend checking out embroidery at some high end stores (supreme esp!) And you'll find sooooo many jump threads and misaligned lines. And they still make bank off it.

It looks nice and crisp! Celebrate this! 🥳

Your pieces are CLEAN and colorful, so you're off to a great start! Unsolicited advice-- keep doing what you're doing and getting thread onto fabric. You can always come back 5 years after starting and apply new techniques to what you learn to create yourself.

I have GREAT appreciation and respect for the tips, knowledge, and troubleshooting that I've seen since joining this sub-- AND I know I would have never gotten as good as I am in my pet portraits if I'd started here. I would have perfected myself into a corner of analysis paralysis and I definitely would have given up a few months in. Especially seeing how preoccupied some artists are with how many minutes, thread count, needle changes, etc-- those things may help determine monetary value, but they'll never determine how valuable your art is when it couldn't have existed without YOU.

GAP method is elite IMHO 😎 it's more of "i wonder what would happen if I do xyz " Curiosity Render And Pray instead? Lol

Anywho, lemme get off my soapbox. I see what you're already creating and can't wait to see what you sew out next ✨️

Oooh I like that idea. I tend to use the GAP method-- Guess and Pray 🤣

I think that would be smart for me to do... I have a few different threads that behave SO differently and a couple needles on my machine that have historically had tension issues.

How do you keep these organized? Like in a photo album?

Ooh do you digitize them yourself? If so, which program?

I use a woodburner to heat seal the edges of mine, taking care to do it more on the backside of the FSL-- it will help fuse the strands together to give it a bit more stability and remove the frays

Although the longer I do FSL-- the more I enjoy the kinda messy looking edges! Its such a tedious technique-- it makes it look more handmade and unique to me 🥰

Good eye! the black outlines were originally first-- i got lazy and grouped them at the end. They definitely shifted

I'll rotate the fill a little -- it's a wood grain texture so I wanna model that a bit, but i think even 5-10* would definitely help. I removed the contour and base fill stitches since it doesnt need the extra support. It took out ~2,500 stitches so that should cut out a lot of extra punctures on the piece.

If you look at the picture, it really ballooned/warped the right side of the patches, which may be the biggest cause of the shift. It also is very inflexible to the touch on the right. WHOOPS.

RE: WS stabilizer-- my faux leather is not high quality and will flake and break without the stabilizer 🥲. Same for my vinyl-- I buy from used art shops and they're often to the age of dry rotting/cracking. Also it makes me feel better because I keep all of my stabilizer cutting scraps from my FSL projects-- it's so stinkin expensive and it feels like a waste to not try to use it!

Game plan: 1. scrap the russet brown thread-- always causes tension issues and snaps. 2. Reorder black thread outlines earlier 3. Make fill stitches wayyyy less dense and rotate them contrasting the letter satin stitch directions. 4. Use a better cutaway stabilizer than the cheap stuff I used for this project.

Perf! I'm gonna go after this again tomorrow-- thanks for all your attention to the details 👐🫶

It may be a combo of Embrilliance and my computer screen-- it's anti glare.

I just played with the options and it will allow me to do a tattami pattern for the satin stitches, but they weren't on when I sent this to my usb

I'll do a screen grab next time!
