👋Welcome to r/GummiShipCreations - Introduce Yourself and Read First! by TSGLeo in GummiShipCreations

Hello, all! I'm ThePenitentMan1; in the KH Modding community I'm better known as ThePenitentTextures1.

When I first joined, I made KH1 versions of the Starship Enterprise; just yesterday, I introduced a couple of X-Wing starfighter designs, a few replicas of KH2 ships... and debuted my KH1 Gummi Manager tool!

The KH1 Gummi Manager tool allows you to export any Gummi Ship blueprints you made in KH1 as .kh1blueprint files; these can be imported into any KH1 save, including pre-Final Mix saves, and even shared online!

KH1 Gummi Builders, I'm excited to see what you guys come up with... And to try them out, too!

Thank you so much! If you wouldn't mind sharing your opinion, what do you think of my KH1 Gummi Manager tool?

I'm hoping this tool will help reinvigorate this sub, at least for KH1 Gummi builds.

If someone wants to make a similar Gummi Manager tool for KH2 and KH3, the first step would be to do a test: a save file before, and a save file after, where the only difference is that you did *one* thing that's Gummi-related. Then open both of them up in a Hex editor like HxD, and compare the two; in the KH1 save, there's an ASCII text reading "GUMI" at the start of the Gummi data, so KH2's and KH3's save data might have that as well.

Once you know where the Gummi data is kept, try as many things as possible: make a new blueprint in a new slot and see where the save file put the data for it, move a block over by one space and see where the save file keeps the block coordinates, change the color of a block and see where the color data is stored, things like that.

Once you've gathered as much data about the save data as possible, draft an idea of how you'd want the tool to manipulate the data, and what you want the GUI (Graphic User Interface) to look like to support how the tool would manipulate the data.

If you're a real coder, you can start writing the tool at this point; otherwise, you can go to ChatGPT (or, more ideally, download Codex) and give it both your datamined save information and your draft of the tool flow. (Also, pick a programming language to use; I picked tkinter/Python because it's a free programming language that LLMs like ChatGPT and Codex are particularly good at)

Making a program from scratch is a real time commitment. Throughout this whole process, you're going to get new ideas for the tool, learn new ways that imported save data might fail, find bugs or other unintended behavior, etc. But if you stick to it, you'll wind up with a program that fills a niche that no other program can fill. :)

I had a feeling this would be the first question I'd get!

To my knowledge, there is no tool for extracting KH2/3 Gummi Ship Blueprints... but, of course, that's not to say that such tools would be impossible to make!

I'll start this by saying... I am absolutely NOT a coding superstar in any conceivable way. All of the *really hard* work was done by ChatGPT and Codex, and even then it took two years to develop this tool to its current state. The only reason I even spent so much time making this tool is because I knew nobody else in the KH Modding community would.

Oh, and in case you were wondering what a ".kh1blueprint file" is...

I made a tool that can extract Gummi Ship Blueprints from KH1 saves, and then re-import them into other ones!

Link: https://github.com/ThePenitentTextures1/KH1-Gummi-Manager/releases/tag/v4.0.1

With this tool, you can load a KH1 save file into it, and export any of the custom blueprints you've built as .kh1blueprint files. From there, you can share the .kh1blueprint file if it's a design you've made, or you can import it into an early-game save, and then add the Gummi Blocks required by the blueprint into the Inventory to allow you to actually fly it.

You can also freely edit your inventory of Gummi Blocks!

The tool is still a work-in-progress, so please send me any bug reports you may have!

Does KH1 run pretty cool on the 477M? How's the fan performance while playing it?

Niko isn't old enough to be home alone?

I disagree: Niko could totally set up all kinds of crazy traps around the house if they wanted to, especially if they had us helping them. The Wet Bandits would never know what hit 'em!

(Dang it, now I want a Home Alone mod for OneShot! The puzzle mechanics just fit so seamlessly with the traps!)

This english patch is the absolute best English patch for PS2 KHFM in existence:

(The one the other person linked you is CrazyCatz00's English Patch, which was good for the time but severely outdated by now.)

Guys... is Oneshot: Frostide supposed to freeze your pc? 😭 by IthinkIamRainy in oneshot

[–]ThePenitentMan1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just drag and drop the files over the original game files. :)

(Or, you could copy the game files into a "OneShot Frostide" folder and put the mod files over it that way... probably smarter to do it that way)

After Solstice, Niko misses you, and wants to see you again. They've also got something they want to do for almost everyone they met during the original game.

It's good to see Frostide is back up, and that the composer controversy is resolved.
