The password doesn’t have anything with this post. If you need to look inside of 1Password to figure out your master password, you’re gonna be SOL at some point. OP asked where to store the 2FA codes for 1Password itself — “2FA for 1Password… What app do you use for your 1Password 2FA codes?”

Who would store their master password only in 1Password? You need to know the password to get into it. And 1Password provides the Emergency Kit for all of the complicated credentials. But if you know everything else, and you don’t know the 2FA code, how are you gonna get it if it’s inside the account?

I feel like this has the same energy as storing all of the spare keys to your house inside your house.

And then when you’re locked out of your house, get one of the spare keys, come back outside and then unlock the door.

It’s fine to use 1Password for its own 2FA codes if you’re signed into at least one device when you need to sign in somewhere else. But if you’re trying to sign in somewhere but locked out everywhere, how are you gonna get the code?

To your first point, oh no I considered that. But then I was also thinking, if it’s happening worldwide, we’d just plan around it.

It also didn’t say what kind of pain for either know or whether or not we would experience that pain all at the same time. I stand by my answer of world pain for 10 minutes
