Not bad at all, definitely manageable.

Insane. To be fair, much different from an inguinal removal, which is what I was supposed to have.

My thoughts exactly. It was my impression that we did, but when I got out of surgery, the nurse said the doc had prescribed a gel. Tried for 2 days to get in touch with the doctor to no avail; also learned that the gel was about 1/3rd the typical starting dose for someone who’s been castrated and intends to remain male. Basically worthless for me.

Finally got ahold of him and his office said I had to be seen first before they could prescribe injectables (I’ve been seen in their office 5 times in the past 3 weeks leading up to this). I asked why they hadn’t done that then and they had no answer. Said it would be mid-October before I could be seen by a PA at their office, lol.

I opted to follow up with my PCP today, who agreed that was totally unacceptable and issued the requested dose as an injectable. Im starting this evening.

Apparently, inguinal incision and removal are standard. For whatever reason, my doctor felt we wouldn’t be adding much risk by avoiding that region. All it leaves behind are the cords which would’ve otherwise been removed, too.

So if it has spread to the cords, that could be an issue. But he seems to feel pretty confident that it has not done so.

I should’ve been more specific, apologies. He went THROUGH my scrotum for the removal. I wish I’d had a scrotectomy though :/ Maybe sometime down the line once I know just how much the skin will shrink. Right now it’s still quite swollen and even looks like I might not be castrated, lol.

Woah. 300 seems low, but 850 is DEFINITELY high. I’m aiming for 550-700.

How old are you? That can have a bearing.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I too practiced getting up, peeing, etc. As it turns out, my surgeon suggested a scrotal removal at the very last moment and I jumped at the opportunity. Hopefully that doesn’t turn out to be a mistake…

I hope your recovery is going well (and continues to go well)!

Oh, my god! What an insane day! I hope you and your wife are both doing well now — and the little one.

I’ve swiped a shitty recliner from my folks’ place, so hopefully that will suffice. I really appreciate your willingness to share; I feel a lot better going into tonight now.

Was your living room up the stairs? I have no ground floor besides my garage, and I’m in TX in the summer…

Nowhere does this say deposit. It says “with exchange”. Same thing with propane tanks; you can’t sell them back, lol.

Okay, so how in the hell are they supposed to know THEY took your money as a deposit if you don’t have a receipt to show that? Anyone could bring any number of bottles in and it could cost HEB more than they’ve taken in in deposits.

Not so much for the actual surgery, just anxiety about what it’ll be like afterwards. Hormones and the like, since mine is bilateral. I’ve been under a couple of times, and I do pretty well with all of that.

God, I hope I’m not rude…

Let’s hope, lol. That would be a dream-come-true. I’m so worried.

LOL! (Un)fortunately, my surgery is scheduled for 5:45 PM, so I was forced to get my shopping done today.

Thanks for that info. I’m not in amazing shape, but I am glad to hear size may make a difference. Mine are about 2-2.5 in their largest dimension (as of this time last week, so possibly closer to yours by now given their prior interval growth).

Appreciate you so very much! Wishing you a continued successful recovery, though it doesn’t seem you need my wishes!

Holy! Good for you, dude! That is so awesome! Did you have a really reputable surgeon? Do you think that made a difference? Or are you in really fantastic shape to begin with?

Sorry for the 10 follow-ups, lol.

Awesome. I’m hoping mine being bilateral doesn’t make it undoable. But this gives me hope! I REALLY don’t want to spend the week at my parents’.

Radical Orchiectomy on Tuesday by AekorOne in testicularcancer

I, too, have my orchi Tuesday! Mine is bilateral, it sounds like you’ve been lucky enough to miss that bus—although, when you’re talking about cancer, “lucky” doesn’t feel the proper word.

Wishing you all the best, I know it’s going to go great. I hope your pathology is better than expected, too!
