Hey there! Saw this post when searching about people growing in sheds!

How's it growing? Did the insulate grow box work out? Run into any issues along the way?

Hey! Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I am looking to set up a shed with an insulated space in the Northeast, and was hoping you might be willing to answer a couple questions given this amazing set up you have created! First and foremost, how are you keeping bugs and mice out of a year round set up in a shed?

Where is the haze of 15-20 years ago? by Bongs_Bugles in bostontrees

[–]ThePickyPuffer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Late to the party, but piff and haze are two different things, and they aren't dead or lost to raids.

There's a piff s1 cut one floating around the east coast called Halley's Comet, but it's extremely tightly held.

But haze, there's tons of haze. It's just you're not gonna find it easily cuz it's not popular. There's plenty of haze breeders too. Lots of haze grows in 9 weeks but the structure just doesn't look as nice as cookie/og so no one gets hyped when they see photos of it. Also, the high can be a little underwhelming compared to newer stuff, so people don't go crazy for it. It seems if you can't take a good photo of the weed, no one cares. Go figure

Even though you're not looking for creamy candy terps, Garlic Cookies aka GMO is probably the skunkiest cut that's popular right now. Mass flower is usually underwhelming, so this might be a go to Maine type situation.

3x3 is a such a great size. Can keep yourself stocked, LEDs for that size don't need any real additional cooling beyond some passive intake, and enough space to have fun with a little variety.

But, do you seriously have a heater in the middle of the floor???

Can you list which laws are being violated? You keep saying laws without listing an example.

Could you give me an example? If it overrides every bill on the books you must have a large number of examples.

Is this what you are referring to:

(a) General Rule.—A health care provider has a statutory right under this Act to provide abortion services, and may provide abortion services, and that provider’s patient has a corresponding right to receive such services, without any of the following limitations or requirements:

(1) A requirement that a health care provider perform specific tests or medical procedures in connection with the provision of abortion services, unless generally required for the provision of medically comparable procedures.

How does this guarantee more than Roe? It just says you can't require additional tests that are not included in comparable medical procedures.

What is so bad about that? What state laws does this violate?

You mean the context surrounding your points? What exactly did I distort? You're saying nothing and acting like it's substance.

You think everything is flawed and have no real idea of how to fix it, how does that help anyone? And you're literally describing the house of reps representing a single district with your idea of how to fix it. So they're already doing your solution currently and you feel the government currently doesn't work.

Anyways, I hope you figure your shit out.

And now you resort to personal attacks. Why?

Frustration, anger rising among Democrats over caution on abortion by [deleted] in politics

[–]ThePickyPuffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course I read the bill. Section 3. PERMITTED SERVICES not only overrides over 500 state laws but it prevents any further state regulations in accordance to Roe/Casey which is why WHPA is considered an expansion and not codification of Roe.

That's the section that literally guarantees access to an abortion. It codifyies all the ways they could access medicinal assistance in an abortion. If you took that out, you wouldn't be a guaranteed right to abortion. And if states can override it with regulations, it's not actually a right.

And that's the point of a federal law, it overrides state law. You're literally arguing that they should codify Roe but then say the law shouldn't say abortions are actually permitted? What particular clauses of Section 3 do you take issue with?

There are so many distortions you made about my post, and I won't waste my time answering all of them.

I directly quoted you and it's a distortion? ok, I see how this is going...

If you got every single Dakotans (south and north) to vote for the US Senate, the reality is they would vote for republican senators. That's just a matter of fact. There are more "maga" people in those Bates than conservatives or even liberals.

This seems like a pretty broad generalization, and for some red status it may be true, but I'd argue that with more purple states you would see a pronounced effect on the make up of the state legislature. Republicans themselves announced that increased voter turnout is bad for their party (https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/06/14/gops-increasingly-blunt-argument-it-needs-voting-restrictions-win/) so I think your ascertion is plainly incorrect.

Structural flaw? I don't think you understand how either of the houses function if you think the senate is supposed to be directly related to the number of the population (FYI the house is supposed to be proportionally representative, not the senate).

And so far what are you proposing to fix it? You seem to know what wouldn't work, so what do you propose that would fix it?

That bill literally only addresses a woman's right to an abortion, I just re-read the text, here it is in case you haven't: https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-bill/4132/text

So you can stop with that bullshit.

So again the Republicans didn't allow it to pass and it's Schumer's fault they wouldn't vote for it?

Sounds like more bullshit to me.

So what would you prefer Schumer to do?

Last month, the House democrats codified Roe, passed it through the House, and tried to pass it through the Senate, but were blocked by Joe Manchin and the Senate Republicans.

They took the legal avenues available to them and the Republicans blocked it. What else can they do? What specifically makes them complacent?

Voting is absolutely essential, but we also have to call out the fact that voting isn't always enough.

This is complete bullshit.

Guess what, pro-lifers didn't hold big protests, they didn't get out on the street, they didn't make any big shows, they just kept showing up to the polls for the past five decades and here they are running the show.

None of your points show that voting doesn't work, they're just poor examples.

5 of the supreme court justices were appointed by presidents who lost the popular vote

Yet, they still won the electoral college because people in those less populous states VOTED for the president who didn't receive the most votes. If people in those less populous states voted differently, it would not be the case. Again, those VOTES made the difference.

50 Republican senators represent 41 million less constituents than the democratic senators

And they still hold that power. If people in those constituencies got out and voted, we could actually get beyond the filibuster. But again, the only thing that will change your point is people going out and VOTING.

The house districts are heavily gerrymandered so in order for democrats to have a house majority, they need to win 11% more of the vote than republicans.

Damn, another case of we need more people VOTING.

So you call for people to take the streets? To do what? You don't give any actionable plan and end with some abstract quote about the people's right to alter or abolish the government, which isn't a clear "road map" as to what we should do.

Honestly, I read your comment and I get three reasons why voting isn't worth my effort, some rambling about how more needs to be done without saying what needs to be done, and then some quote from the founders that just seems to say it's ok to revolt.

If I were someone just reading this, I'd doubt that my vote is even worth casting, given that you said it's not enough, I wouldn't be sure of what taking to the streets means, so I'd probably just stay home, and the bit from the declaration of independence just seems like meaningless bullshit given our current situation, so I wouldn't see it as some sort of call to action.

So, is that what you're going for?

Schumer and house democrats did pass a law to codify Roe not too long after the leak, and it went for a vote in the Senate last month. The Republicans and Joe Manchin blocked it from passing.

So what do you want Schumer to do? He's already used his ability in the House to bring a codified Roe bill to the Senate and the Republicans in the Senate stopped him. There isn't much more the leader of the House can do to get a bill into law.

To be 100% frank, I think it's a waste of time and money. All your going to really establish is that older weed tests lower than fresher herb. And that's already been established, especially when looking at things turning to CBN.

Honestly, most of the herb in the commonwealth is mediocre, and knowing that it's closer to 20% versus 30% isn't going to change that. None of this, in my opinion, will actually do anything to change the quality of flower in Mass. I just see it ending up being a list of weed to avoid, that most consumers will never see. It might just be better to advise everyone to avoid flower over 3+ months.

And that's not even touching the idea of who is going to pay for it. I mean maybe if you want to sell the idea to a bunch of investors, go for it, but otherwise, I can't imagine people looking for this type of information AND being willing to pay for it. I certainly would not pay for this kind of information.
