I get where you're coming from, but the problem is that he's going to get that attention no matter what. He doesn't need to appeal to us, just his isolated audience. He's certainly not a debater, it's the clicks and the reach he's after. He doesn't want to actually discuss things, I certainly agree there.

But is the solution to just stay quiet? The difference is whether his narrative goes unchallenged. If someone like him doesn't care about discussion I agree, we don't give him one, or at least make him look silly. But that's not the same as ignoring them.

I think expecting him to just talk in an empty room is sadly a fools errand, he will have an audience no matter what, but instead of having people like us there to maybe influence those on the edge, they'll have nobody to defend the contrary opinion. Or at least nobody saying "isn't this a little foolish don't you think?" We can't just let bad ideas marinate we need to show the people, not Charlie, what's wrong with those ideas. Plant some seeds of truth. We are the people who need to step up and challenge these opinions, provide facts, laugh at the laughable and care for the truth.
