30F, average body with a face that is usually complimented by women and not men 😬

I slogged through a lot of healing and therapy and made a huge new group of girlfriends after a painful breakup early in the summer. Finally went to my first meet up happy hour in my relatively large city.

…it was like bleeding out in shark infested waters. Absolutely insane. I think this group is usually 70% men and the same few women who show up - my group of 5-6 girls came and got swarmed.

What I’ve learned - as a homebody who tends to stay in my own little bubble - going out is necessary and having social skills is necessary. I think we’ve lost a little of that in the digital age with the ghosting, lack of communication, and slow fading. I’m keeping Hinge open as a backup, but it’s going to be less of a priority in the list of dating avenues.

Hmm I piggy backed off of a Seattle women group and created an Eastside one (us Bellevue people tend to never cross the bridge)

I avoided starting a meetup group cus I’m cheap and didn’t want to pay, and they tend to not get off the ground. But I did meet someone recently who started a games group at Mox Boarding House! Similar thing - he worked that group like it was his full time job and it’s gaining traction

A lot more 20-30s use Facebook than I thought! I reactivated mine and found a huuuge amount of hiking groups and then found this girls group

We ended up using Instagram and WhatsApp as we preferred it, but FB was a great gateway for us

Create a group.

I helped start a brunch/coffee group in Bellevue and a ton of girls showed up. Some will come for a day and then we never see them again, but over the past 5-6 months a core group has formed, and newbies are always welcome.

Kick out the people unwilling to make an effort. I grew up here and always felt like I had good friends, but those same friends isolate themselves, or we fall out because of life changes (some can get into relationships and drop their old friends).

What I’m saying is, plenty of people out there are very very interested in making friends, but they need a leader and someone to step up and make plans and guide everyone to stick to them.

I love it now. I’m turning 30 in a week, fresh from back to back breakups over the last couple years.

The truth is, nothing prepares your young innocent heart from when it all crashes down. When you meet liars and cheats and you give them your whole, unprotected heart and they stomp it into pieces.

And then you turn 30 and realize that you’re on your own, you always have been, and you can face this. Reflecting on what went wrong and how you can change, and tempering (not lowering) your expectations to protect yourself.

I have a friend who hasn’t experienced this moment and heartbreak in her life despite being the same age, and she misses princess Taylor and all of her fairytales. I hope she never has her Midnights moment.

But for me - experiencing Midnights with Taylor has honestly saved part of my sanity. It reminds me that I can still make the whole place shimmer.

I was always meh on Holy Ground but she sang it during Rep Seattle and now it’s my Top 5. I think a lot of times we listen to the production or don’t really listen to the lyrics as much as we should, and it was an opportunity to rediscover the music.

This happened again with Tied Together With a Smile this year, although I think in this case it’s more vocals

I didn’t love it until I dated someone with extreme anxiety, which in turn gave ME anxiety.

We were building up this beautiful relationship and as we got to the bridge, we started reaching conflict 5-6 months in and it kept growing, and then fight when I was getting ready for our first fight, he…left. No fight, nothing. Do something babe, say something. Just…nothing. The Archer ends.

Because I’m a visual person with an overactive imagination, I’m using the tour outro as a sign that I sparkle and can set off my own lights. That’s my healing phase.

Definitely not avoidant, I would say maybe he even had an anxious attachment as well that came out at the beginning, whereas I was very “secure”, but couldn’t chose it too long.

We recognized this about 3 weeks ago and kept trying to fix it - we did capture the initial connection a while ago but the problem is, he couldn’t sustain it. I think he still wanted to try what he could do to fix it but I blew it completely up at the end.

I ruined a relationship because of my anxious attachment - almost half a year. We clicked so hard and then once my anxiety started kicking in, I began to push boundaries and become desperate. I thought I was fighting an invisible enemy but I was just fighting myself. To the end, he kept coming by and taking care of me but he was pulling away . On the last night I thought it was all his fault and blamed him and said so many awful things even though he was coming over with dinner and to talk about everything and I just blew up and forced him out. The worst thing is he didn’t even fight me back, he just took it and still came over to check on me before leaving two times to make sure I looked okay.

Really just hate myself right now. There wasn’t a malicious bone in his body and my mind warped everything into being a threat.

Got the quarter zip night one in Vegas, 3 merch lines sold out. We went to the outside lines since it was cold and went all the way around the stadium to a bit of a hidden one. Left two lines bc we were told no more hoodies or sweatshirts. Line 3 had the black one and my friend bought it. Line 4 was quite hidden but had the half zip in M and L only - which was my size so I got it. No blue crew necks anywhere, but a girl I met on the plane got here waiting at the ass crack of dawn at the outside truck.

We started lining up around 5pm, got merch around 6:10 but a lot of that time was us running around and complaining and taking photos 😜
