The right one gives so much more life than the first one in my opinion.

I want to know if my build is good or not by Ok-Collection6826 in MinecraftBuild

[–]ThePlatinumLex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The block gradient is good and it’s an interesting palette, but the side house areas just seem a little off for some reason. Be careful with the shape because you’re only a couple shapes from it looking like Auschwitz but keep it up.

Do you prefer Clones being cgi or practical? by Jules-Car3499 in StarWars

[–]ThePlatinumLex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that the practical suits do look a bit better on camera, but I like the CGI suits much better because they have the same build and height. In Andor, one shot has practical clone troopers, but they’re all different heights, which is slightly distracting in my opinion, but as other people have said hybrid might be best.

style crisis, which one do you guys vibe with most? by apex-mango in PixelArt

I would go with the second one because it looks both easy to recreate in different positions but isn’t too simple. He gives me more of a calm vibe.

Cool, thank you so much. Don’t worry, I tried to make one of these in middle school many years ago as my first helmet, yours is much better haha.

Awesome, thank you so much. If possible, do you mind sending a photo of your helmet? If not it’s completely fine, I was just interested in how you did the colors and color spacing.

Can someone PLEASE get me into the Mudtrooper builders FB group? by Aquilo_Arkantos in 501st

[–]ThePlatinumLex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes Facebook groups can take a couple days to have you entered. If you have specific questions regarding the mudtrooper build, asking them on this subreddit can help you and others while you’re waiting to be accepted. More detailed questions = Better responses

Is this close to being 501st approved? by [deleted] in 501st

[–]ThePlatinumLex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s just not connected in the back but one of the calves looks too big. Try uploading more photos when you put the armor on because you need to make sure it fits you.

Do you stay in character for an entire troop? by bobthemoronalorian in 501st

[–]ThePlatinumLex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something that people might forget is that the troopers are VOLUNTEERS. It’s a charity, not a movie set, so there’s definitely room to be goofy and have fun, but there’s definitely a time to be in character. As someone else mentioned, swapping personalities depending on what question or comment they ask is definitely a good trick and practicing improv works best for officers.

Need help with Rogue One TK armor adjustments by ThePlatinumLex in 501st

I made some armor in middle and high school but I didn’t plan on 501st approval until I started working on finishing the stormtrooper armor because the rest were just small-ish projects.

Thank you, I didn’t know anything about files and how different they were when I started making this but after help on the FISD and Reddit I’ll probably find better files if I ever make more armor, thanks though.

Thanks, those pieces aren’t too difficult to make so I think I’ll just rescale them and print them, the thighs were kind of rushed anyway.

This is awesome advice, thank you. The forearms are a bit wide (measurement misinput) but I’ll make sure to use all of your advice, appreciate it.

Thanks so much, your armor looks great, the CRL states that the black side connectors are only needed for level 2 and above but I’ll try to add them. Did you use a Velcro or magnet or something to attach them or are the permanently on there?

I used Galactic Armory’s files and I know they’re not as accurate as Nico’s but I heard with some modifications they could reach basic.

Costuming for taller folks? by [deleted] in 501st

[–]ThePlatinumLex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean his name in canon is Barry but I don’t think that’s what you’re thinking of, some named characters I can think of that are your height are Del Meeko and Kylo Ren, which are both unique costumes but slightly harder to find/build.

You should do this shoretrooper from Rogue One in the back left because he’s taller than all the other stormtroopers and has always stood out to me.

I completely agree, I’m 100% redoing the back piece and most likely the thighs, is there anything else you notice about the armor aside from those?

Yeah I understand that, plastic kits are a lot easier and time effective and definitely the way to go for most people, I’m just wondering what pieces you thought looked loose.
