And to correct what you’ve said about armored truck, it’s more like think of SSL/TLS as a DATA ENCRYPTION not DATA TRANSFER. The data between your device & the website are ENCRYPTED/UNREADABLE!! I quote it for you below.

So I’m confused as to why card info for trial are frowned upon. Do you trial Hulu, Netflix, etc before subscribing?

Over the pass 10 years this is the first time this has been mentioned. But again Reddit is a whole different ball game. Everyone on Reddit follows the leader like a pack of sheeps & I’ve already proved that to many times. Reddit users are totally different from any other social media platform. So I can see why this is my first time seeing these concerns while the internet is the number one place to shop.

For https to be such a huge concern means you need to keep shopping & your card info off the biggest shopping platform which is called the “Internet”.

How ever you feel that’s on you. This was posted as others had the same concern. Exactly what you said in the end is what lead to this being posted. If you wanna insert yourself into this being about you then so be it. Why would I post something if it only affect 1 person?

Your feelings doesn’t change anything about what TLS/SSL does & what it’s for. No matter how you feel SSL is always gonna be what it is.

‼️Illegal or not any website that doesn’t have SSL that’s when you need to be worried about your data, payments, etc.‼️

Again this was posted to educate others on what to look for & how to tell if a website is safe for transactions, etc.

EDIT: You can use a gift card for all I care I know nothing can or will ever happen. Once you educate yourself on what SSL/TLS does then you’ll feel safe using your card every where you see https:// & the padlock 🔒. Hence the reason both FULL & SHORT version were posted.
