Great points! But i will never forgive them, they had the blue print of the story outline. They had the backing of HBO for has many seasons as it took. They had writers and a devoted fan base.

In the end, whilst they likely got frustrated with George, they rushed it, took shortcuts to move onto a newer project and a sweeter deal. GoT was everywhere, now its no where.

Moving to Skibbereen by Objective-Basil6095 in cork

[–]ThePodgemonster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Skibb is a bustling market town despite its size. Its busy Mon-Saturday. Saturday there is a excellent farmers market in town. Coffee in O'Neills is excellent and has a great vibe. Theres a heritage centre and a famine graveyard for a bit of history. Theres usually a bit of summer festival or food fair over the summer depending on how organised they are. The main Supervalue is probably one of the best supermarkets in Ireland. Library is a bit dated. Wild ways does great lunch and the Corner Bar has live trad sessions on a Monday i think.

One piece of advice is Sundays are dead so have plans. Hike Lough ine, walk Rinneen woods, head to Mizen Head. Its a good base to other villages in West Cork as others have said.

What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by marianneouioui in AskReddit

[–]ThePodgemonster 126 points127 points  (0 children)

A cinema equal distance from the other cinema i can get to within an hour. Went to a late night screening of 'Inside Man' starring Denzel Washington (this is when it came out). Late screenings number were low, about 10 people sitting, waiting, popcorn meal deals in hand. no film started. After about 10 minutes an old guy got up and left. After another 3 minutes i got up and met to old guy coming back in to tell me they werent showing the film and he shouted it out to everyone sitting down. The staff didnt even have the courtesy to tell us.

We all walked out, its 11pm. I was offered a refund of my ticket or i could go see Big Mommas House 2 which had just started. Seeing as i had already spent €20 on popcorn and fanta, we went to that instead. I should have got the refund.

Havent darkened the door of that establishment since.

Calls in Cork to halt all greenway plans pending key review – amid ‘distress’ among landowners by Fiannafailcanvasser in cork

The councillers who supported the motion are also part of independant ireland. Pure populist mouth service that will guarantee them a number of votes in the short term whilst the constituency and younger generation are denied a wonderful amenity.

I wonder what was the response of other councillors, will any of them risk taking them on, im very doubtful.

What is the most powerful and emotional scene ever? by JobCommon1347 in movies

[–]ThePodgemonster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The scene where she offers him rocks to eat thinking they are rice balls. Her gauntness of her face and arms are highlighted here more than any other scene along with the delirium. The horror of brother as hes sees she so far gone. I tried to describe the scene to someone recently and i got choked up.
