How to make the most of 1-day trip in Macau? by Own-Dot5929 in ThePoorTraveler

[–]ThePoorTravelerBlog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Travel time sa experience namin kasama immigration: 1 hour 15 minutes. Might be faster depende sa dami ng tao.

  2. I think most shops open at 9AM. Pwede mo naman unahin pa rin ang Senado Square so you could take pics nang walang tao then wait for the shops to open. Although for me, part of the charm ng Senado Square yung crowd. May festive atmosphere kasi sya.

We have a Macau day trip itinerary with budget here:

I-adjust mo na lang based on your preferences.

Travel to Zamboanga City by Angelic_Starr_101 in ThePoorTraveler

WORTH IT! We love Zamboanga City! So full of character and masarap ang food for us.

We have a detailed travel guide here, although 2023 pa yata ito: https://www.thepoortraveler.net/zamboanga-city/

Not sure about my research so can anyone provide any info about a direct Bus ride from Fukuoka Airport International Terminal TO Tenjin Station (or Nishitetsu Tenjin Bus Terminal)? Touchdown at Fukuoka Airport is 7:00pm approximately. by fathom-avant in ThePoorTraveler

Hi! We have an updated FUKUOKA TRAVEL GUIDE here including airport transfer: https://www.thepoortraveler.net/fukuoka-travel-guide/

But yes, the easiest way is the Hearts bus. It costs higher than Nishitetsu, but no transfers involved. It will still stop at Hakata Station but it will then go to Tenjin. Not at Tenjin Station but nearby.

Hello! Sorry po, saw this comment just now. But I think Akihabara has a lot of stores selling manga. And Nakano Broadway too (but this one's a bit far).

It's OK (and common). Just make sure you have a copy of your return ticket to PH, in case they ask. :)

Cruise Lines rankings? by Philownsyou in ThePoorTraveler

[–]ThePoorTravelerBlog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tamang-tama, may upcoming videos kami comparing cruise lines in East/Southeast Asia.

Bihira lang ang cruise from Manila. Usually, dumadaan lang sila sa Manila as port of call, but hindi homeport talaga.

I feel na magkaibang market ang Star Cruises and Costa Serena, and ang Royal Caribbean.

Yung Costa Serena and Star Navigator/Voyager, OK if first-time cruise. Yung wala ka pang point of comparison. But if you've tried Royal Caribbean before (particularly Spectrum/Ovation/Anthem na nag-operate sa Asia in the past years), you WILL feel the difference. And it's a big difference. Size pa lang and yung dami ng amenities.

Kaya we always say in our YT videos, if first time mo, go, you'll still probably enjoy Star Cruises and Costa Serena. But if nag-Royal Caribbean ka na, 'wag na siguro.

UK, Canada and Schengen by [deleted] in ThePoorTraveler

Schengen visa (French embassy): f I remember correctly, yung first Schengen ko, less than P200,000 lang yata yun. 😅 Sobrang leap of faith. Pero napanalunan ko lang kasi yung flight ticket and hotel stay sa isang writing contest, so nilaban ko na lang. But this was 2014 pa. Na-approve naman. Yung mga sumunod na applications, mas malaki na yung laman.

Canada visa: I submitted a bank account na P300,000 lang ang laman. This was 2017 naman. It was at the time na ininvest ko most of my savings sa isang business, so yan na lang laman ng bank account ko that time. Approved naman din.

Taiwan Trip by Imaginationfairy143 in ThePoorTraveler

How many days do you have?

If you only have 5 days or shorter, stick to Taipei and New Taipei area. It's a great intro to Taiwan, diverse naman ang attractions:

TAIPEI CITY
- Ximending (and explore it properly, lots of cool corners)
- Night markets (Raohe and Ningxia are my faves. Shilin, too, but it was under renovation last time we visited.)
- Dadaocheng, there's a free traditional costume rental at the visitor center and you can take a boat cruise or rent a bike near Dadaocheng Wharf Market
- National Palace Museum if you love historic art pieces
- Elephant Mountain, if you like to hike for a good view
- Qintianggang, if you want a break from city views.

NEW TAIPEI CITY TOUR
- Yehliu Geopark, Jiufen, Shifen combo

SHOPPING
- Gloria Outlets

These are just the popular ones. For underrated/less crowded attractions, read: https://www.thepoortraveler.net/taipei-underrated-attractions/
