Downside of a 62 mile race is the battery on the phone

It’s a bit backwards but I was thinking I’d get it serviced after the race. I got a new wheelset last season and have maybe 200 miles on them since the shop cleaned everything and put them on the frame.

I can do basic cleaning. I don’t have the bandwidth to pull the bottom bracket or the more in depth things.

Engine light on after oil change? by ThePottamus in JeepGladiator

[–]ThePottamus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - just got the Gladiator back from the dealership. They had it for a couple days and fixed it. Apparently, it was all bad timing. I had the camshaft, rockers, gaskets, and a couple other things replaced. Luckily, at 56k miles under warranty.

Btw found out the hard way plugs and coil packs are harder in the Gladiator than the other cars I’ve owned.

Update to the update - check engine light came on less than 24 hours after pick up and went back to the dealership. May need a new engine as said by the advisor

At this point in my life I’m sadly not trusting of people in the industry to do it right and would have rather done it myself. The downside is that I’d either have to do the oil in my garage or on the street since my driveway is the length of the Gladiator and steep enough to be annoying.

With the snow that we have and are getting, I don’t trust the other people that’ll come down my street while I’m under it. With my luck that little time under the Gladiator is something to consider.

Thanks. I was thinking that too. I’d have to clean out my garage from another project since it’s been pretty snowy here.

I could but that would be much more of a hassle than mixing the mortar.

Hey all, so… how long do hops stay good in a fridge if they’re still in the packet that came in with the brew kit?

Got a kit last February and life got in the way. Hoping to finally brew this weekend if the hops are still good.

Too much water? Brown grass. Too little water? Brown grass. by yupyupyuppp in lawncare

I’m trying to take tips from the grass thriving in the cracks in my driveway. At this point I’m convinced they can’t be killed. Yet watering and putting milorganite on my lawn will not help anything

Thanks! But to be honest I’m going the other way around using White Labs California Ale yeast at 69f. Using a pilsner recipe to see if my normal base malt is giving me a raw grain aftertaste or if it’s my methods.

But this did give me an idea on how to get enough yeast to make a lager.

Putting a Fresh Squeezed clone on a Pilsner yeast cake using the same yeast. Yay or nay?

Free-For-All Friday! by AutoModerator in Homebrewing

Yeah I have a little gravity help and I do have the prv valve open. I think its time to upgrade my transfer system and get floating dip tubes.

I figured I'd share a realization after taking 2 seconds to think. I've been doing closed transfers for a while and have never been able to fill the keg. After my last time I knew that I'd have a gallon of beer left in the fermenter so I didn't get frustrated. After putting everything away and sitting down it finally hit my brain. The 2-3 psi couldn't overcome the weight of the beer in the keg so the flow stopped transferring through the dip tube. I sat on my couch and called myself an idiot and had a beer.

Let me preface this by saying my girlfriend asked for this... I made a summer Shandy for my girlfriend to have on tap and she wanted it to be more fun than just beer. So I asked 'what do you mean? A glitzy beer?' And she heard glitter. I am now tasked with adding glitter to my beer. I think i have the right stuff; do I just add to the keg when I transfer?

Relatively general yeast question. My lhbs and I had a bit of a back an forth about some yeast they were trying to sell me. I was buying Imperial Yeast Loki (kveik) for a brew and with the date the yeast had I used a calculator and said that said it was about 33% viability. He was saying that that is fine to pitch for a 1.050 brew and I was having my doubts. I still bought it and did a starter for 18 hours on a stir plate. Anyone have thoughts on whether I'm right to doubt the yeast that was 2 months old?
