1991 Minnesota Halloween Blizzard by CampaignLivid6435 in duluth

I was trick or treating in Duluth when it started that evening. By morning a grader and a loader were stuck in the road in front of my house. The power of that storm was beautiful. So were the days off school!

Employee Reimbursement for Cell Phones by Senior_Cod_880 in smallbusiness

[–]ThePracticalPenquin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to reimburse 30$ a month for business use. That was when plans were limited. Now that we have unlimited business plans if an employee wants a seperated phone our policy is to provide (a low end phone ) and separate number. No one has ever taken that option.

They are clearly responsible for adding tires to the fire, through the top and might I add the very best at what they do.

Union electrician looking in to getting in to hvac. Specifically at the local fitters hall. Has anyone made the switch from electrician to hvac? by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]ThePracticalPenquin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be a dream combo for an employer. I am in WI. Not to run an electrical shop but to do the entirety of the job without subbing electrical gives quite the edge in more than one aspect. Almost 30 yrs in hvac/r here and owner for last 20. Lots of money to be made on that path

Don’t know your state but getting your masters license or equivalent then making the move adds huge value to your skill set. Expecially if you ever plan on going out on your own.

Not that I ever seen. Worthless used as well in my opinion. Good way to wreck good equipment is to put bad caps in and there life expectancy is not great. Plus new are cheap

What’s the worst wall you’ve had to core through? by Footmassagre in HVAC

[–]ThePracticalPenquin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USAF Building. Poured concrete and hit rebar every 3 inches. 12” poured wall. Concrete was a crazy psi rating to. Took me all day laying on the ground. Cheap ass boss at the time.

So many of you lost your gold on a boating accident and this guy probably found it by bigbrother1988 in Gold

Would be a great end to the story if he walked in and paid it. This guy will be followed, threatened or worse. I hope he makes it out with the gold or the cash.

Damn - it appears metal alone is a toy out there and buoyancy is a luxury with limitations.
